Hi guys! I made a crop top. Today I would explain the important steps to making a crop.
The first step to making any garment is measurement. Below are measurements needed to make a crop top.
MEASUREMENTS
Shoulder
Neck
Armhole
Burst
Waist
Half length ( shoulder- waist)
A good measurement is a good garment made. Measurements should be carefully taken, make sure they are accurate and to achieve this a tape measure of 1-60 inces is needed. (Customer's Name ) as seen below is where your customer's name is written. here is an example of how to note measurements with the picture of a tape measure used for measuring.
It is important to know that all fabrics has the bright and dull face. The bright face of your fabric is folded to face each other and patterns are made on the dull face your fabric using a chalk, following the measurements taken.
All garment has front and back, here is the front of the crop top gotten from the patterns made on the fabric after being traced out (cut) with a scissors.
The back was gotten by placing the front on another folded fabric, zip allowance is added as an extra to the back.
Linen is used to turn in rough edges of your traced pattern (neck, armhole) and some other part to make it neat as seen below.
A dart is a fold or pleats made on a garment in other to give it a fitting shape.
Darts are made on both front and back after which they are joined together on shoulder and the sides following the measurements noted.
It is turned out after sewing then lower part (waist) is folded( sewn) in. this is a crop top.
it could be worn with trousers or skirt, as wanted.
Here are pictures of some projects I did.
