It's important to know that apart from making a garment off a fabric and making money from it, scraps are also useful in making an extra money if they are wisely used.

scraps are pieces of cloth you bring out while cutting a particular garment.

Here are four ways to make use of scraps:
making different beautiful pattern on garments such as (Top or blouse, gown, trousers, skirt etc..)

Table mat

Cap

Rose.

A lot of people find it difficult to make neat and beautiful patterns on their fabric, as much as they love to beautiful their garments with them.
Below are the steps to making patterns on your fabrics.

Guidelines to making patterns on any garment.

Do not draw your pattern directly on the fabric to be used to avoid wastage of the fabric to be used, because you may not get the shape of your pattern correctly at first attempt.

First draft it on a brown paper, then you pass your drafted pattern to your fabric.

place your drafted pattern on an air stay then trace it out.

Air stay is a soft material that looks like a tissue paper, it can be in black or white colour. It has two face one with glue and the other face without glue, you can different the face by touch. The glue face is rough while the other face is smooth.

The rough face(glue) is attach to the back of your fabric using iron with slight heat.

It makes your fabric smooth, gives it a quality texture. We can easily sew our pattern to our garment when an air-stay is attached to it.

linen your traced pattern after an air-stay has been attached to it. then make a slit on your linen to turn out your pattern.

iron properly to bring out the edges that might have folded in with linen.

place on the desired part and attach it to your garment using a sewing machine.
