A few days ago I was at the mall in my city and I found a huge golden nutcracker. I loved it, I wanted to make some out of cardboard and foamy to guard my Christmas tree.

Materiales:

3 Rollos de cartón (de papel higiénico)
Foamy de color blanco
Escarcha dorada
Pintura acrílica de color negro y dorado
Silicón
Pegamento escolar
Pincel
Acuarela de color piel, azul y rojo
Bolígrafo de gel de color negro

Materials:

White foamy
Gold frosting
Black and gold acrylic paint
Silicone
School glue
Brush
Watercolor in skin, blue and red colors
Black gel pen
Adhesive tape
A 10-centimeter piece of gold-colored chain
White costume jewelry balls
Scissors
Embossing iron
Soldering iron

Elaboración:

Primero vamos a armar el cuerpo del cascanueces con los rollos de cartón. Podemos hacerlo por separado para que las piezas queden ensambladas como un juguete.

Me gusta cuando un simple rollo de cartón se transforma en algo arnamental.

Elaboration

First we are going to assemble the body of the nutcracker with the cardboard rolls. We can do it separately so that the pieces are assembled like a toy.

I like it when a simple cardboard roll is transformed into something arnamental.

Hice un corte en uno de los rollos para hacerlo en forma conica. Ese será el cuerpo.

Para fijar nuestro cono utilizamos la cinta adhesiva, cubrimos la unión por fuera y por dentro del con para que sea más resistente.

I made a cut in one of the rolls to make it conical. That will be the body.

To fix our cone we use the adhesive tape, we cover the joint on the outside and inside of the cone to make it more resistant.

Para las piernas del cascanueces, cortamos un rollo por la mitad y hacemos 2 cilindros iguales.

For the legs of the nutcracker, cut a roll in half and make 2 equal cylinders.

Para terminar el esqueleto de nuestro cascanueces, necesitamos 5 piezas:
La cabeza, el sombrero, las 2 piernas y el cuerpo. Yo hice los brazos solamente de foamy.

To finish the skeleton of our nutcracker, we need 5 pieces:
The head, the hat, the 2 legs and the body. I made the arms out of foamy only.

Luego calentamos el foamy con la plancha en potencia media, estiramos el foamy y pegamos con la silicón.

Then we heat the foamy with the iron in medium power, stretch the foamy and glue with the silicone.

Después de forrar cada pieza, con acuarela color piel pintamos la cara y dejamos secar al aire.

After lining each piece, we paint the face with skin-colored watercolor and let it air dry.

Ahora vamos a pintar las botas. Yo no tenía foamy de color negro por lo que lo pinté de negro primero y luego lo maticé con dorado para crear ese efecto brillante.

Now we are going to paint the boots. I didn't have black foamy so I painted it black first and then shaded it with gold to create that shiny effect.

Para la punta de las botas. Tomamos una de las bolitas de bisutería y calentamos el Foamy, moldeamos para hacer la forma redonda y pegamos sobre un cartón.

For the toe of the boots. We take one of the jewelery balls and heat the Foamy, mold it to make the round shape and glue it on a cardboard.

Una vez que se seque, lo matizamos con dorado. Y reservamos para seguir con el cuerpo.

Once it dries, we shade it with gold. And we reserve to continue with the body.

Para las partes escarchadas, tomamos la pieza de foamy, aplicamos pegamento y luego la escarcha que cubra bien. Si tienes foamy escarchado puedes utilizarlo.

For the frosted parts, we take the foamy piece, apply glue and then the frosting that covers well. If you have frosted foamy you can use it.

Luego montamos las piezas una por una y pegamos con silicón.

Then we assemble the pieces one by one and glue with silicone.

Lo que más disfruté fue hacer las botas y la cara.

What I enjoyed the most was making the boots and the face.
