Today I've come to share with you a little project I embarked on a while ago š. This ambitious project aimed to help one of the people I love and admire the most in the whole world. Help with what? You may ask š¤, well @Ivycrafts loves to knit š„°. Back then she was telling me about the complications she was having with certain aspects, such as organizing the yarns in her work area, among other things š¤¦š»āāļø. That's how studying a little bit on the internet, I came up with the idea of creating a yarn organizer that meets all the needs when it comes to knitting and it was also multipurpose š¤©.

Para comenzar con este proyecto busquĆ© una lĆ”mina grande de Madera MDF š«. La cual procedĆ a medir y trazar las distancias de como querĆa que me quedara todo. Previamente a esto habĆa realizado un croquis de una idea que se ajustara a lo que querĆa hacerle š. El objetivo era realizar en una tabla de MDF un espacio para 2 hilos de tejer grandes (uno al lado de otro y otro espacio debajo de este para otros 2 hilos) š§¶ y bordes para implementar otras ideas. Como una H, pero sin par patitas de abajo _|__|_.
To start with this project I looked for a large sheet of MDF wood š«. Which I proceeded to measure and trace the distances of how I wanted everything to look like. Previously to this I had made a sketch of an idea that would fit what I wanted to do š. The goal was to make on an MDF board a space for 2 large knitting yarns (one next to each other and another space under this for another 2 yarns) š§¶ and borders to implement other ideas. Like an H, but without bottom pair of legs _|__|_.
Previamente, habĆa realizado un plano tambiĆ©n, mĆ”s detallado, con las medidas š. El cual guardĆ© y con las medidas (Las cuales tuve que ir variando y recalculando durante la marcha). Fui cortando todos los pedazos de lo que querĆa hacerle a la organizadora de crochet ā. QuerĆa que esta contara con un lugar para sus hilos y agujas de tejer y coser, punteros, clics y elementos como bocas, orejas, ojos de seguridad, pines, botones, entre otros. š AdemĆ”s, un espacio para pintura la cual podĆa usar para detalles como las mejillas pintadas, la boca en ocasiones u otros agregados para sus magnĆficos amigurumis šØ.
Previously, I had also made a more detailed plan with the measurements š. Which I kept and with the measurements (which I had to keep changing and recalculating as I went along). I was cutting all the pieces of what I wanted to do to the crochet organizer ā. I wanted this one to have a place for her knitting and sewing yarns and needles, pointers, clicks and elements like mouths, ears, safety eyes, pins, buttons, among others. š Also, a space for paint which she could use for details like painted cheeks, mouth on occasion or other additions for her gorgeous amigurumis šØ.
Una vez con todas las piezas cortadas y medidas, procedĆ a ver como se verĆan en su lugar š¤. Siguieron los cĆ”lculos y viniendo ideas a mi cabeza. Una organizadora multipropĆ³sito š¤©, con la que no solamente pudiera tejer a gusto. Entre estas ideas destacaban un alfiletero, porta agujas de tejer, porta hilos de coser e incluso un lugar parecido a una paleta de colores donde agregarĆa los detalles a sus creaciones š®.
Once I had all the pieces cut and measured, I proceeded to see how they would look in place š¤. Calculations continued and ideas kept coming into my head. A multi-purpose organizer š¤©, with which I could not only knit to my heart's content. Among these ideas stood out a pincushion, knitting needle holder, sewing thread holder and even a place similar to a color palette where she would add details to her creations š®.
ComencĆ© a taladrar dimensiones aproximadas a un agua de tejer š³, en lo que serĆa la secciĆ³n para agujas, los espacios donde irĆa la pintura y el pincel, unos agujeros para agarrar bien el alfiletero y en los 2 tramos que habĆa asignado para los hilos de tejer š§¶. Es decir, en el lugar donde entrarĆa la cabilla lisa, dejando un espacio de fricciĆ³n para que fuese fĆ”cil desmontar para meter hilos š„¢.
I began to drill approximate dimensions to a knitting water š³, in what would be the section for needles, the spaces where the paint and the brush would go, some holes to hold the pincushion well and in the 2 sections that I had assigned for the knitting yarns š§¶. That is, in the place where the plain stitch would enter, leaving a friction space so that it would be easy to disassemble to put threads š„¢.
