DIY Washi Tape Bow

in #hive-1305602 years ago

Hello, everyone! This bow is a great way to decorate a gift. You can use any washi tape or decorative tape you want. It's only September, but I really wanted to use my new snow shoe washi tape to create a holiday/winter bow. You could even use patterned cardstock paper for this, too. It's pretty simple to make, and doesn't require that many materials. Check out the directions below ⬇️

Materials:

  • Washi Tape
  • White Cardstock (Cut in three strips: bow, middle, ribbon)
  • Scissors
  • Glue gun

Directions:

1. Cover the largest piece of cardstock with washi tape 🔼 Fold excess over the edges.

2. Flip over the washi-covered cardstock and fold it in the middle 🔼

3. Fold back the top piece toward the first fold 🔼

4. Flip over the bow and repeat step three on the other side.

It should look something like this 🔼

Next, you will cut at the open end of the folded cardstock 🔼

5. Cut the open ends, folded together, in this shape 🔼

It should look something like this 🔼

6. Cover the smallest piece of cardstock with washi tape.

7. Wrap it around the middle and secure the back with hot glue.

8. Cover the medium-sized cardstock with washi tape to use for the ribbons.

9. Flip over the cardstock and fold it in the middle.

This time, you will be cutting on the closed folded side 🔼

10. Cut the same shape that you cut for the bow. Flip over the cardstock and cut it on the other side.

11. Cut a triangle shape at the end of the open sides of the folded cardstock.

It should look something like this 🔼

Cut the ribbon cardstock in half and glue both pieces to the back of the bow 🔼

And now you have your bow ૮ ˶ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ˶ ა
