We'll break it down into three sections: Understanding cards, Leveling up cards, and Tips for selecting which cards to prioritize .

Let's dive into the tutorial!

A Beginner's Guide to Leveling Up Cards in Splinterlands

Upgrading your cards in Splinterlands is a key strategy to gain a competitive edge in the game. Higher-level cards not only have better stats but also unlock new abilities that make them more formidable in battle.

1. Understanding the Basics of Splinterlands Cards

Cards in Splinterlands come in various types, elements, and rarities. Each card's maximum level depends on its rarity:

  • Common: Maximum level 10
  • Rare: Maximum level 8
  • Epic: Maximum level 6
  • Legendary: Maximum level 4

The card's level is displayed on the bar in the middle of the card, just below the character's name. To level up a card, you need to combine multiple cards of the same type.

Cards in Splinterlands are diverse and abundant. By leveling up, the number of the same card in the population decreases, making them rarer.

However, you must be careful in choosing which cards to upgrade. Focus on leveling up cards you truly need in battles.

Splinterlands cards can be identified by their appearance. The card design provides information related to the requirements for upgrading their level.

When cards are leveled up, their population in the game decreases, making higher-level cards rarer. However, it’s crucial to choose wisely which cards to upgrade, focusing on those that fit your battle strategy.

2. How to Level Up Cards

Each level upgrade requires a specific number of duplicate cards. For instance:

  • To level up a Common card from level 1 to level 2, you need 5 copies of the same card.
  • To reach the maximum level (level 10), you'll need a total of 400 Common cards of the same type.

As shown in the image, each card has a different level. The card’s level is marked by the bar in the middle of the card, just below the character’s name. For cards with a maximum level of 10, you need to combine duplicate cards to achieve each level.

For example, to upgrade a card to level 2, you’ll need 5 duplicates of the same card. To reach level 10, you’ll require 400 copies of the same card.

Each time a card levels up, you’ll gain bonuses for that card. These bonuses may include increased attack power, defense, speed, or health points.

Follow these steps to level up your cards:

  1. Open your card collection in Splinterlands.
  2. Select the card you want to upgrade.
  3. Click the Combine button to merge the cards.

next when you hit combine button :

For example, I currently have a card at level 3 after combining 14 copies. To reach level 4, I need a total of 16 copies. By adding 2 more cards, I can upgrade to level 4 and unlock a new ability.

As seen in the image, when a card is upgraded to level 4, it gains additional abilities that are very useful in battles.

Benefits of Leveling Up Cards:

  • Improved Stats: Each level increases attack power, health, speed, or defense.
  • New Abilities: Certain levels unlock special abilities like Flying or Shield.
  • Increased Rarity: Higher-level cards are rarer and more valuable in the market.

3. Tips for Choosing Cards to Upgrade

  • Focus on Key Cards: Upgrade cards you frequently use in battles.
  • Match Your Strategy: Prioritize cards that align with the rulesets you often encounter.
  • Consider the Investment Value: High-level cards have better resale value.

Leveling up cards requires a blend of strategy and investment. With this guide, you’re well on your way to building a powerful collection that can dominate the Splinterlands battlefield! 🚀
