Rise of the Pixels | Making Games Inside Hives Newest Game

I have not been on Hive in a while. We're talking months at a time. So, when I do log in every so often, there's always something new to be explored. More recently, this was a new game running on Hive Engine economy called Rise of Pixels. I noticed this game while browsing through the games section of the Peakd interface, and it seemed worth it to at least take a look. This is because of the cool graphics it had, and the UI design is also top tier in my opinion.

So, I went ahead and had a look, and of course you have to buy a starter pack, which I'm not mad at, as it isn't that much to earn through a few Hive posts and or comments. I paid about 25 HIVE to get my starter pack and I could get started immediately.

My resources tab now showed me my fancy new recruiter Grace Hopper, and my unopened starter pack. Time to open it!

The drop rates are very clear, and also the description of what should be in the pack. Let's just hope that they are true.

This is what I got. Ingus, the junior developer, since he is "common", joined our team, and for now he will have to do all the work himself, 24/7 with his trusty optical mouse, which is withing our budget.

I decided to play this game without reading too much of the documentation, as a true software developer would, so I figured the first thing we could do now is make a game. Because of the positive trend, the company will first make an RPG pirate game for PC, in the hopes to lift along with the hype of today.

After deciding on the type and category of game, we became the marketing department and creatively wrote our title, description and then cleverly used Artificial Intelligence to create our cover image. So far, so good.

Then we select our top developer who can NEVER take a day of EVER.

And then we got a screen which I wasn't expecting but is a cool addition to the game. With different points you get to decide the strong and weak points of your game.

Because I had no clue what would work best, I just spread all points equally across the board. We'll see what happens. And because the game advised it, we selected the duration to be at least 12 hours.

After all of that and buying some coffee and red bulls for our star developer, we could start the project. 12 hours later the project will be done, and we will see the result, but more on that in the next post.

For now, I would like to keep an overview of what I spend on this new Hive game, and how much I get out of it, other than fun. Because of course I had to make this about the economics as well.

Overview so far:
