I wasn't actually doing anything today since I was pretty sure I needed a day off. But then I checked my writing streak and I was just one day short of a medal so I said to heck with it, I wasn't doing anything anyways and I think I drank way too much caffeine that I can't fall asleep again XD So drawing it is!
I was actually working on something else but I think my hands forgot how to do traditional art at this point so... I ended up doing it digitally.

So I ended up making a really pretty woolio princess XD
This holozing creature has been on my list for a while now and I finally have the energy and motivation to work on it. It didn't come out exactly like how I wanted it to, but I'm still extremely happy with the outcome ^^
As for my progression:
I ended up skipping the sketching phase and only got the shot when I was doing the base colors. I wanted to do mostly warm tones because woolio does look like the sun so the sun it shall be.
I maybe spent an hour on the hair without even noticing it XD but I rarely work with curly hair so I really wanted to take my sweet time with it. IDK maybe if I draw more curly haired characters, I'll get somewhere and also get faster with making curly hair.
Then no gaussian blur this time for blending, I mostly used the smudge brush to get that controlled shape. So I have figured out how to get definition from my drawings in gopaint ^^ Then I mostly worked around yellow to red because I have no idea how to work a highlight color on this one this time XD
I did end up cropping the paper a little too because I noticed I had too much empty space at the bottom then I worked on the highlights, more small details then I debated on adding the crown for a while. But if I'm gonna follow the original art, it did have spikes soooo I gave her a crown XD
Then I also made a small time-lapse clip for you guys to enjoy.
It is a little late for me now and I should be sleeping but I didn't want to break my weekly streak yet. I will be sleeping in a bit so this might be all from me for today. Thank you guys for stopping by ^^ I'll see you guys again tomorrow!
