I had a bit of free time so I made something this afternoon for the Holozing community. I've done a couple of Holomon fanart in the past few months and I want to make something different. I have chosen the Ocean Female healer to recreate. I haven't mastered the art of creating human figures so bear with me on my first attempt.
I'm using the same technique which is a mixed media style. I'm also using similar highlighter & permanent marker materials that I used when I recreated the Holomon fan artwork.
Here's the process of my recreation of the Ocean Female Healer.
I started with sketches using my 2B Staedler pencil. My goal in this process is to get the proportions right. However, since I'm not yet familiar with the anime-like proportion of a human figure, I didn't capture the proportion accurately.

After completing the pencil sketches, I traced the lines using my permanent marker. This is to finalize the lines to get it ready for coloring.

Here comes the part that I usually enjoy, it's the coloring part. Although it's more challenging because of the hair. I'm not sure how to make use of the highlighter in such a way that it will look like proper hair.

There's a limited variation in the colors of highlighters so I make use of the existing ones and try to balance the application until I'm happy with the results. Here's the final artwork!
