The new creature "Larvie" has arrived in the community and of course I am excited to know that for this day I would have a new inspiration to create another piece of art that I will keep in my creature gallery #holozing.
This caterpillar has some impressive features, an even more epic evolution that I invite you to see with this official post. Also, something I won't overlook is the fact that Larvie represents the first venomous attacks in a creature, which is also new, so I started to think how my drawing would be and tried to get down to work, I hope you love my drawing, but first I show you a short process.
My inspiration begins!
The new creature "Larvie" has arrived in the community and of course I am excited to know that for this day I would have a new inspiration and thus create another piece of artwork that I will then keep in my personal gallery of #holozing creatures.
If you notice carefully, I have chosen to draw his face a little different from the original and even has one resembling a skeleton mask, this to make a direct reference to his poisonous power.
I added other details in his body, but I think the most significant has to do with the bottle that contains his poison to use it later in his attacks, something like his power positions hahaha, well let's continue with the drawing....
Something always logical and important to do is to create layers apart from the design, so I will have this freedom to fill each one with a specific color, ensuring the efficiency and clarity of my ideas. By the way, as you can see, I filled with darker colors, which is the majority of Larvie's body, this is because I didn't want to saturate too much with the green color, leaving it for the strong point that you will see later.
Ok here I started to accentuate the bases of the shadows; however, I also took the opportunity to fix some color mistakes because the antennae looked a little strange to me at first, so I changed them to pink.
It could be said that up to this point the colors were already looking the way I wanted, but first I had to zoom in on my drawing to inspect details that might be overlooked at first glance in the creature's face.
As I've been telling you, at this point I focused on enhancing her face with some additional shadows to make her look like a skull mask, all this I do to achieve an intimidating look to my version of Larvie.
Of course that bottle containing a poison I also ended up painting it, although as it is a lethal magic potion I wanted to mix several colors that I then blurred, to end up stirring them with the distortion tool I think I achieved my goal, even the cork of the bottle I also thought it was great!
And when it came to creating a background, I wanted to make it a bit gloomy to give more suspense to the creature, having a palette of purple and dark colours that blur around Larvie....
Then, with the distortion tool, I stretched and made a stroke in the background to give that similarity that this is the trace that larvie has left in his journey.
Something characteristic that I had to put in is the distinctive Z of Holozing, but I took the liberty of changing the original colours, because I thought that since it was a poisonous creature, then the green design would go well with Larvie.
And drum roll... I finally finished my drawing, that distinctive look I was looking for, I think I got it, I think if you meet this version of Larvie in real life no matter how tiny this caterpillar was you wouldn't even want to approach him let alone pet him because of his appearance hahaha it would poison you fast. Well, with nothing more to add the last opinion is up to you, so comment!
