Happy weekend! A little art therapy sesh for today. 😁 This time, I drew a creature, particularly Zingu!
Art Process
I imagine Zingu swimming in a swamp of lily pads instead of the icy water of South Pole. 😁 I lost the folder for the sketch, ugh! This happens when I compile the layers in folders. Perhaps I accidentally deleted it. I realized it when saving the layers in PNG file. But anyway, the lineart is just simple so easy to work on. On separate layers, I filled the spaces with the base colors.
I colored the background so that I could imagine in my head that Zingu was swimming. Added the lily pads with the help of the shape tool. It is easier to create circles with the use of the tools. A simple render for Zingu using an airbrush and flat brush. Next, I added the shadow below and blurred it out.
Since the sky reflects on the water, I added subtle clouds and white lines for the waves. I add a red color to the lily pads for a pop of color.
Final Art
Same as the clouds, I put some reflected tree leaves on the water. On the surface, I added grasses and their shadows. Lastly, I added glitters and sparkles.
