Hello, amazing artists of the Holozing Community! It's been awhile, hasn't it? I haven't posted anything after my Ocean Healer fan art. But today, I finally finished another fan art. Guess who I picked this time? Yeah, it's the female Light healer. I started to draw her last week, so I almost forgot how I drew her. Lol, it's a good thing that I can still unhide and hide those layers so I can save the photos to have a guide for how I draw her. >_<
ART PROCESS (^___^)
The first thing that I did was draw her in line art. I found a reference on Pinterest. At first, I didn't know what or how I could draw her because, as a person who is not yet good at digital art, I still needed a reference. But, of course, I did not copy everything in the reference. I just need inspiration on how to draw her.
The base color that I use is brown. I don't know why I use that color, but maybe because, in my imagination, I need a shadow on her right face. So I really need a color that can make her other part darker than the other side.
What excites me the most is coloring her make-up. Because I like make-up! I like how her eyes look lazy, so I think the color of her make-up should be like the trend, like how the K-pop girl groups. Adding a blush under her eyes or in the eyebag rather than putting it on her cheeks and a simple lipstick, from a light shade of pink to a darker color of red,. I just simply use a pen (fade) to color, then smudge what needs to be blended a little on her skin color. Then, using the same brush, I also added a little dark color to make her skin color have more shadow and not look plain.
This is my first time trying to color a face like this, but I am glad because it looks good. Still not perfect, but I think I have made a little progress.
Next, I color her costume outfit. I just copied her outfit from the original photo of Lightning Healer as a reference. It's just hard for me to draw the cross in the middle, but like I said to myself, if it doesn't turn out well in the line art, I will try my best to color when my drawing is not good.
There are a lot of layers on this part to achieve the color that I wanted, but I failed to make it more realistic. Anyway, I used a pen (fade) brush for the dark part, an oriental (shan shui) brush for a little bit of a lighter shade, an airbrush for light and shadowing, and lastly, I smudged and blurred it to make the color flat on the inner side so it wouldn't be obvious and combined.
Okay, I forgot to unhide her crown in her second picture. But anyway, for her hair, I use a pen (fade) brush for her base color. The base color is white. Tbh. I don't know what her hair color looks like, so I just use a hair brush to color her hair for the second base coloring. I used the color that I got from the reference. Then, for her scalp, I use the same brush but use a different color shade, which is darker, and then I use the same brush and layer again with a third layer of the same color as the second layer so it doesn't look flat. I also use a pen (fade) brush in the white shade for the light shadowing on her hair.
Next, I unhided the layer of drawn crown, and I started to color the base color. Since I am an impatient person and wanted to see what it looked like with a background, I started to color her background too, which means that I was imagining that she was on top of the clouds at night.
FIRST FINAL LOOK (^__-):
I corrected and erased the mistakes that were not needed, and then I also re-lined the line art because there were lines that were not connected and covered with coloring.
SECOND FINAL LOOK (♡__♡):
I added some highlights to her hair, highlighted her eyes, and even added some light-reflective details to her crown and accessories.
Like the basic thing that I always do in the ibispaint X:
That's all for today's art blog! I hope you enjoyed my female Lightning Healer fan art!
