Hello cloud lovers. Let's all welcome Round 196 of this awesome competition, the Love The Clouds Contest or LTC hosted by @tobetada. Check out the contest post here. Do read up and join in this wonderful challenge.
Last January 24th we had a full moon, or so I thought, here in our place. It was a really bright moon that night and fortunately, the skies were almost clear except for an occasional wisp of cloud.
According to Google Search the moon that night was in what they call a "Waxing Gibbous Phase." This phase is when the moon is more than 50% illuminated but not yet a Full Moon. Last January 24, 2024 the Waxing Gibbous had a 99% illumination. This is the percentage of the moon illuminated by the sun. Almost a full moon. The next night was a 100% but I was not able to capture it.
The word Gibbous first appeared in the 14th century and has its roots in the Latin word "gibbosus" meaning humpbacked. Anyway, I took a couple more shots and luckily some cloud formation drifted along allowing me to capture my entry to this Round.
The last photo is my entry.
And that's all. Hope you liked it. Best of luck to all the participants. Meanwhile, may you all have a great week ahead.
