Out of the blue, my 9-year old nephew asked me last night what's the difference between China and Philippines. I have no idea why he knew I went to China as I never mentioned it. Maybe his mother, my sister, told him about it recently.
I could think of all the right answers but I reckon, he wouldn't comprehend whatever I was about to say. So instead, I told him a simple "I didn't see a beautiful sky when I was there!" It was gloomy and the sky's murky day in, day out. I don't know if that's the normal atmosphere you can expect from highly industrialized places or if the weather's just gloomy.
I remember when I got back in the Philippines after that trip, it was all sunny and I couldn't help but look intently at the summer sky and the clouds above me. If what I saw in China was something that's normal there and that pretty skies rarely appear, it seemed to me that I'm not appreciating enough the beauty I see every single day.
The photos I'm sharing are the usual sunset view from where I jog here in my hometown. If this is the view, would you not want to jog or at least be here when this happens?
Ending the month of October with a 5km run. What a bliss to have both this view and the serenity I need to thrive for the rest of the year!
