So the big news in Buskeria recently is that Record Signing is going live this week. Everyone could only guess how the new Fan Club cards would be utilized in the future, but ever since the announcement, we almost have got everything we needed and had to know in detail.
People have gone crazy over the new possibilities and some seem kinda against the "easy" way to earn Fans. As important as answering those doubts are and how bad I want to input my final verdict, I'll stick with Record Signing's introduction and discuss the couple of paths and possibilities it gives us. Those questions are easier to answer when you have wrapped your head around the whole idea and I'll try to answer them in another post when I dive deeper into the math behind the whole thing (and reverse engineer the update - interesting stuff, right? :D)
What is Record Signing
It's a new to-be-added-soon mission that utilizes Fan Club cards (which are awarded at certain milestones when doing the Fan Club Promotion mission).
The official announcement explains it properly. [Read Here]
In a way, it could be considered like the Seasonal Event missions - you hold a certain Card (the 'people' card) that allows you to run a certain mission for a chance to win more cards.
In Record Signing, however, it's not a single card that you have to hold - it's a series of cards (the FC-series). You can't find them in the packs, nor can you buy them off of the market (technically, you can since they're NFTs but they won't do anything for you unless you have earned them through Fan Club Promotion missions).
As opposed to the 10% chance that you'll get NFTs during Seasonal Event missions, here, you are guaranteed to receive cards provided that you hold the random FC-series card that the mission requires. The guaranteed card is chosen from a [0.05% Legendary, 1% Epic, 10% Rare, and 88.95% Common] pool much like the card packs.
What to Expect...
This update is yet another addition to the game to provide more variation, ways to earn, and more cards to start collecting!
I can say that this change is no game-breaker at all - more on this in the next post where I'll discuss the numbers.
Some say it benefits the new players, and few might say that it benefits the big guys (not sure how lol), but I believe Record Signing is yet another balanced update that benefits the daredevils who dive in sooner than later or the lucky few.
What to Do?
Well, that really depends on your playstyle and where you are in the game.
- Are you just starting out?
Then I wouldn't really recommend it since you'll be up for a lot of grinding that earns you 0 SB! But... - Are you a collector?
Then definitely do it! Remember that they're adding new cards every week, you wouldn't wanna miss that! (less card than the New Cards Day, but still) - Are you after the Fans?
Well, it really depends on where exactly you are in the actual game and how many of the FC cards you own!
If you are earning more per normal mission, then you can BUY the fans! But if not, then it's worth the shot. If you have farmed enough Fan Club missions, then you have a better shot at earning Fans through Record Signing and you are welcome to shoot your shot! I'll discuss the numbers for this one in a later post as well.
As a Parting Tip:
The value behind doing Record Staking comes from how much Fans are worth on the secondary market! If the floor increases, then farming Fans through Record Signing becomes more worthwhile. And let me tell you that STARBITS is inflationary, so it's bound to increase (STARBITS-wise at the very least.)
I tried to cover most of the stuff I could think of, but if you've got any questions or think something is missing, feel free to drop a comment.
Thanks a bunch in advance, and for reading up to the end of the post :)
Cheers~
