I am not a fan of tattoos. I don't have any myself.
Jimmy Buffet wrote a song called 'Permanent Reminder of a temporary Feeling' and that is how I looked at tattoos.

So I have struggled to come up with an idea of how I can support and promote Tattoo World.

I decided to create a combination Fathers Day/tattoo post about two men I greatly admire. Father's Day is this Sunday here in the US.

My son in law learned to be a great father from his dad.

Richard Palmer and granddaughter Ashley

Dick died in 2017 after suffering quite cruely with MS and spending the last part of his life in a nursing facility.

Dick and his only child Christopher were very close. After his death, he was buried in the small town cemetery where he had lived and worked. As a tribute to his Dad, Chris and my daughter designed the tombstone with the engraving of this wonderful tree, and Chris made the decision to have this same tree design tattooed on his arm.

I love the design of the tree, but even more I am touched by the sentiment behind it. It is a permanent connection between father and son that celebrates their bond.

It is indeed the sentiment behind it! I don't mind the permanent reminders, unless it's on the face - that's just dumb. Still, there's one of mine I'd probably cover up with another one if I could be bothered.

The design of tree and the writing on there catches my heart ❤️ it's a great bond between son and father
I'm also not a big fan of tattoo, also I don't have any like you 😀

That's a lovely tribute from Chris to his dad

It is a beautiful story of how love transcends despite permanent separation.
I wasn't a fan of getting a tattoo either, but I think life tells us if we really need one at some point. At least in my case it did.
Thank you for sharing such a beautiful story

That's a brilliant tribute to his Dad.

This is very beautiful.

I have struggled with tattoos in the past. My dad had some, got them in his younger years and later regretted it. As a kid I was curious about them, then I didn't understand why people would mark themselves permanently. When he passed on I considered getting one myself but I didn't. These days I see them as art and am curious about them. Though I still don't like it when someone is 99% tattooed, don't know why, I just don't.

The design of the tree on the tombstone is very beautiful. I think it's great that your son-in-law has tattooed his arm with that tribute to his father.
my father died 9 years ago but the design on the tombstone is very simple there are only letters and numbers. If the tombstone had a design as beautiful as the tree that you share with us, surely I would have tattooed my arm with it too.
Thanks for your support and welcome to the community 🤗

Se ve bello ese diseño en su brazo, y quedó muy parecido al de la lápida. Sabes, considero que si es del agrado realizar se tatuajes, es bueno que sean de gran significado, puesto que estarán allí por siempre. Muy lindo de verdad. Felicidad y bendiciones

Trees design tattoo are looks so beautiful and amazing.

First of all I am very happy about the growth that the community is having, and the support that it is starting to receive. Thank you for your support.

The tattoo is very beautiful and of course the feeling and background with which it was made is even more beautiful.

Greetings @melinda010100

What a great family story! and great Father's Day story 🙂

What a joy to see your presence in Tattoo World, I appreciate your support in the dissemination and the contribution of both the ecency points as to put beneficiary in this post.

The most representative tattoos are the ones that have a family history behind them.

I think it's beautiful the way your son-in-law honoured his father, some diseases are devastating and remain marked on our skin beyond a Tattoo.

He sent him a big hug and again I thank him for opening his heart, his memories and showing his family in such intimate moments. @melinda010100 🤗🥰
