Happy start of the week ✨ to everyone who is part of this nice community @Holos-Lotus 💮, I hope it's a beautiful week for everyone and it's full of good vibes and blessings 🌼.
This week, I'm here again to join the initiative proposed by @damarysvibra on Dialogue and the intention to understand each other, where she invites us to tell how we use this tool in our lives.
To begin this topic, I would like to explain a little about what dialogue is for me and what talking is. First I will go with the fact of what talking is, this is something that we all can do. Talking is the fact of articulating sounds with our mouth, forming words and sentences, these may or may not have any sense and could be about a specific topic or just random words.
On the other hand, dialoguing is the fact of having a conversation with another person or with several people, that is, talking about a specific topic and with total sense with someone else, where each one can express his opinion or respond to what is said or asked. That is why we must first of all be completely clear that talking and dialoguing are not the same thing.
There are people who, rather than having a conversation or dialogue with us, end up talking and talking without giving us the opportunity to say anything about it. Just as there are those who are talking and do not stop interrupting us to give their opinion and the truth for me is something very annoying.
In order to have a dialogue, there must be a sender and a receiver, in addition to this we must respect certain rules so that it is given in a correct way and we can be understood. To do this we must let both parties speak, issue meaningful sentences on the subject being discussed and above all know how to listen to the other party, because if you do not listen to what the other has to say, you end up talking but not dialoguing and you will not know if what you say is understood.
That is why for this you have to know how to talk, coordinate and listen. Particularly, I am a person who likes to engage in conversations, as long as both parties can express what we want to say. I really like to listen to people, as it is something I like them to do with me. Besides, this way I can give my opinion about what I am being told, because if I don't listen, how can I give my opinion?
Whenever I can use dialogue to fix a situation, I use it. There is no better tool than this to clarify misunderstandings, to repair some action that others do not see well or such a situation. And the best of all is that we can do it in the most civilized and calm way possible.
Telling you a little about this, I have a coworker with whom dialogue is somewhat difficult, since she is the one who talks and talks, when I try to give my opinion she interrupts me and if I try to give her my point of view, she always has another one 🙄 it is very frustrating and we never get to anything. While I have a friend with whom I can talk a thousand things and she allows me to express myself and when it's her time she expresses what she wants to say too, with her I can have infinite conversations without any problem, always understanding each other and reaching conclusions.
Therefore, I can say that the best thing we can do when it comes to dialogue to understand each other is to know how to listen and know at what point we can start talking, always organizing the ideas we want to express and without reaching hurtful and offensive words ☺️.
Un fuerte abrazo para todos 🤗.
A big hug to all 🤗.
