No se si la experiencia que reseño a continuación puede verse como romper moldes, hacer algo diferente o salir de lo común ya que en esencia considero que a veces las ideas preconcebidas de las personas sobre un asunto hacen ver diferente a alguien cuando esta no se adapta a lo que consideran es el común, que por cierto no significa sea verdad. Me explico a continuación, dando respuesta personal con esta intervención a la iniciativa propuesta por la amiga @damarysvibra titulada "Romper moldes", a quien envio un saludo afectuoso agradeciendo de antemano por sus interesantes temas que presenta a la comunidad y nos invitan a reflexionar.
Desde antiguo, no es de ahora, existe la idea de que las personas religiosas son conformistas, de mente debil, manipulable, sin metas o deseos de superación, entre otras ideas que carecen de fundamento ( por cierto nada más alejado de la realidad) y cuando una persona religiosa no encaja en esas ideas preconcebidas la ven extraña y preguntan por qué están allí.
-Cómo una muchacha tan inteligente, tan preparada como tu puede estar en esa religión?- me dijo mi profesora de Comprensión y Expresión linguistica II cuando con mucho cariño le regalé una revista centinela de nuestra iglesia. -Y si le digo que justamente la iglesia Adventista me ha ayudado a ser como soy- le respondí y le conté como en mi iglesia a través de los clubes de Conquistadores y Guías Mayores y la sociedad de jóvenes recibía tantas instrucciones útiles para la vida y como motivaban a los jóvenes a estudiar y prepararse. En clase siempre me pasaba algo curioso con esta profesora, sus clases eran dinámicas, me gustaban mucho sobre todo cuando hacia preguntas de análisis y comprensión lectora, siempre levantaba mi mano para responder,pero ella decía "tu respondes al final". Después que escuchaba las demás intervenciones me preguntaba a mi la opinión y luego decia -esa es la respuesta-. En una oportunidad dijo -siempre te dejo de última porque sé que me darás la respuesta correcta-, a lo que un amigo mio replicó desde su asiento "esa es amiga mía" y todos se rieron. Ella apreciaba y elogiaba mi capacidad de análisis, pero al saber que formaba parte de una religión le parecia que no encajaba esta asociación con mis conocimientos, no encajaba dentro del molde de su ideas o de lo que se cree por así decirlo, finalmente gracias a Dios cambió su idea y así me lo manifestó un día.
No en todas las materias era tan excelente, se me dificultaban un poco las materias prácticas como matemática financiera, contabilidad avanzada, entre otras, pero hacia mi mejor esfuerzo. En las materias de Educación sí me iba muy bien y muchas veces resaltaba en los resultados, por eso siempre pude contar con la confianza de mis compañeras de estudio, algunas de ellas compañeras también de residencia, al realizar las distintas actividades grupales asignadas y su buena disposición al respetar mis creencias como por ejemplo no reunirme a los sábados con ellas porque iba a mi iglesia (la hacian en otro momento, pero que yo estuviera). De hecho algunas veces me acompañaban a la iglesia, nunca me sentí excluida, valoraban mi aporte, a veces dejaban sobre mis hombros con toda confianza el peso de la última palabra cuando había dudas sobre algo y gracias a Dios saliamos bien todas.
Ser religioso, pertenecer a una iglesia X no nos resta nada, al contrario, nos aporta. Muchos científicos famosos fueron hombres de fe y confianza en Dios, muchos pensadores, inventores, hombres de ciencia y tecnología son creyentes. No son conformistas, ni de mente estrecha, manipulables o débiles. En mi iglesia hay muchos profesionales de la salud, educación y diversidad de profesiones y oficios. El estudio de la Biblia es "útil para enseñar, para reprender, para corregir, para instruir en justicia, a fin de que el hombre de Dios sea perfecto, enteramente instruido para toda buena obra"(2 Timoteo 3:16,17).
Cuando finalizaba mis estudios supe de una chica de la universidad que realizó justamente un trabajo de investigación basado en estas ideas para una de sus materias. La premisa fue una declaración de Carlos Marx pronunciada en su juventud que dice que "la religión es el opio de los pueblos". Ella tomó como referente un grupo de estudiantes que sabia pertenecian a alguna iglesia afín de hacer su trabajo, ella era miembro también de una iglesia y queria mostrar que la religión no hacia menos a nadie. Distintas religiones, pero en esencia creyentes todos en Dios, De modo que registraba en sus notas la actuación de estos jóvenes en la universidad sin que ellos supieran. Una de las escogidas para su estudio fui yo. Siempre la veía, pues incluso vimos una materia juntas, pero jamás imaginé formar parte de su investigación, ni siquiera sabía que realizaba ese trabajo. Vine a saber de esto por un amigo que me llamó a mi casa en Carúpano pues ella fue a buscarme a mi iglesia en Cumaná para hacerme conocedora de su trabajo y que le aportará algunos datos personales que necesitaba para concluirlo. Me quedé asombrada, me gustó el tema, pero me sorprendió mucho.
En cierto modo ese grupo de jóvenes estábamos sin saberlo rompiendo moldes por asi decirlo o ideas prejuiciosas, le dí los datos a mi amigo para que se lo pasase a ella. Cuando regresé a Cumaná y la conseguí le pregunté y me dijo que todo salió perfecto, que a su profesor le gustó mucho y le dijo que lo continuara en su tesis o que lo tomara para su tesis final. Según ella en ciertos momentos del día me seguía a todas partes, incluso hasta al comedor (Se imaginan si hubiese hecho algo mal?, hubiese quedado allí escrito?, susto! ). Pero todo salió bien gracias a Dios, solo me mencionó un detalle de un joven (sin decirme nombre) que al parecer se copió en un examen, pero por lo demás todos destacaron en virtudes académicas, demostrando que pertenecer a una iglesia no nos hace diferentes, todos somos iguales, no menos inteligentes, manipulables o sin deseos de logros o aspiraciones,como alguien pudiese creer, al contrario, tratamos de hacer lo mejor para honrar a nuestro maravilloso Dios. Tampoco somos más que otros, los seres humanos estamos en continuo crecimiento personal,mental y espiritual. Por cierto la vida cristiana no es religión es relación.

Being religious, belonging to a church X does not take anything away from us, on the contrary, it gives us something. Many famous scientists were men of faith and trust in God, many thinkers, inventors, men of science and technology are believers. They are not conformists, narrow-minded, manipulative or weak. In my church there are many health professionals, education and a diversity of professions and trades.
