Hi fellow Hiveians,

Today I wanted to share some more photos of recent memory now that the autumn is approaching.

Collection Monochrome Monday

I definitely get a lot of enjoyment at the random and entertaining trips that I take with my wife and son. We can make a fun day out of so many things! With that, there is also very frequent opportunities for us to take all kinds of pictures and some of them come out pretty interesting!

I think one of the things that's unfortunate about the day we live in is that people tend to not think of a local area to them as a place of opportunity for entertainment and enjoyment. We get ideas of grand trips to far-away places and think that is what we need in order to enjoy ourselves. That's not the case for sure!

I think perhaps I also had that mindset for a long time, but thankfully have adjusted my mental framework a bit. Being on Hive here, and interacting with people from all across the world realistically, I have grown a great appreciation for the area I live in, and the ability to travel within just a few hours of where we live and still find beautiful and entertaining places!

We've taken a bunch of trips lately to various locales and most of them very local but we are able to have just as much fun as if we were traveling to far-flung places and I think that's great. I think this is important for a lot of things, but one of them definitely being our mental state. It's always nice to have a bit of a break in life and getting to enjoy a vacation even if it's a full day to a place, so that we get more frequent breaks instead of no breaks then a really long one.

The pictures I take when on these trips are pretty fun to me. I don't profess to take breathtaking photos but I think I've taken some pretty interesting ones! Just that short snap in time is cool to me because it helps me remember things in a way that I otherwise would not be able to as easily or immediately. This makes it quite fun to go back and look at the pictures I flipped into black and white over the past few months and remembering the place we were at, what we were doing and all that.

I think the turning of pictures into black and white in this manner is pretty cool as well because it helps keep your attention focused on the frame of the picture instead of the other parts. Yes looking at a well-formed color picture is remarkable but I think I end up looking at a few specific things instead of looking around the frame of the picture and finding hidden gems. I think one of my favorite black and white pictures is of the flamingo taking a rest here! The dramatic one-eye open in black and white is pretty wild!

Greetings from here ☺️ I agree with you in saying that indeed, we miss so much of our surroundings thinking that what is attractive is only outside. I also like to think that monochrome photographs make us focus on certain aspects of the shot.
