Hi fellow Hiveians,
Today I wanted to share a few photos of some frozen berries in a recent snowstorm!
Frozen Berries Monochrome Monday
We've finally gotten it.. a little bit of snow!
I know there are a lot of people who complain a lot about snow. I don't like that, because it's a really fascinating and fun phenomenon to experience. Granted, when you've lived in a place your whole life that gets snow it loses a little bit of its luster, I don't think it has for me.
We haven't had a lot of snow in recent years, which is okay because that's the cycles things go through. The weather patterns are always going to change and be all over the place. One year we got the most snow ever recorded in the area, and I lived through that so it's not really something I'm ever concerned about. In the 1930's there was really wild weather as well, and barely any of the culprits that are being blamed for causing changes in the weather were prevalent, so fuck it.
One of the things that I really enjoy about the snow is how the whole place looks being covered in it! It really is magical and has so many cool things to see and experience. Today I ended up taking a few photos of these berries that were being exposed. Although I know what these berries are - they are evil mother fuckers. They are one of the most widespread vines in the area, and they are an invasive species. I believe they are called succulent or something, the name may come back to me as I'm writing this but this little bastard destroys itself nevermind the trees it leeches off of.
The unfortunate thing about these things is they produce some pretty widespread berries, but that doesn't mean I can't take some photos of them while we were back there.. so I figured fuck it!
The experience was a little dismaying for me this time though because I wasn't feeling the best! I got sick from my kiddo the other day and that has had some lasting effects for me. Thankfully nothing terrible, but I have had a brutal headache the last few days and that really dampens the enjoyment of things like the snow.
Thankfully though, we got to do some shoveling and other things to help get the blood and lymph moving! I'm feeling a little better now compared to earlier, but we are going to go out and enjoy the snow some more tomorrow before it melts. The funny thing about the snow sometimes is that it comes, and then melts pretty quickly because the weather warms up. That's just how it goes sometimes!
