Hi fellow Hiveians,

Today I wanted to share a few photos from a recent trip where I got some delicious but later season blueberries!

Late Berries Monochrome Monday

This is a little bit late in the year for blueberries. It's still in the range for sure, but normally the berries are picked clean by this point, and for good reason. They are not an incredibly long season, but for the berries these are the longest ones out of the varieties. I think that is definitely a good thing, considering how important they are in our household!

The little man absolutely loves blueberries, and they are his favorite snack. He eats them most nights and when we are able to go out and get ultra fresh, local berries like this we highly prefer that over some crap at the grocery store that is questionable in terms of how it was grown, packed and all that. Plus we get to spend a little bit of time out in the sun and enjoy the weather, which was perfect!

Picking berries in the summer can sometimes be quite the ordeal. It can get hot as balls out, but it can also be quite comfortable. Thankfully the latter was what we ended up getting and it was really something special! The sun was out but there were clouds scattered across the sky, making it a really nice but cooler day. The real key here was the humidity was incredibly low and normal, which made it far better of a time.

We spent about an hour and a half picking the berries which was great. I would love to get some blueberry bushes in my yard when we eventually get a house, but we will play it by ear in terms of that, as I've got a lot of things in mind for the yard for our house lol some of which will never happen, while others would happen.

The funny thing about it was that the little man may have eaten about a pound of blueberries himself when we were out there picking! I could barely keep up with him just shoveling them in his mouth hahaha. I didn't mind though, they are such an incredibly healthy and important snack for him. They are absolutely part of why he's as tall and healthy as he is, because he prefers that over other garbage that we could be feeding him.

I think the pictures in black and white for these are quite interesting. You can see all of the berries, but you can't quite make out what is a ripe berry versus one that still has a bit of time. I love the shades and different darknesses among the various areas though, that is pretty awesome! It's really something incredible where a phone could take such clear pictures like this!

Very nice black and white image display.

Thanks, it was fun taking the pictures!

Hope they aren't too sweet? One thing about fruits is that sometimes you take them so much and forget they can be too sweet..
Would have loved to see the colored pictures

The colored ones go up next week!

These were perfect for my taste. Just SLIGHTLY sweet, with more tart than sweet. I actually get grossed out by berries that are too sweet because it's not natural. They should have a tart nature to them!

It is quite impressive that your phone could capture such detail.

Although some manner of skill is included too...

I don't think the little man should eat so much berries at a go though 😂😂😂

It could be disastrous to his stomach..
