Hi fellow Hiveians,
Today I wanted to recap some of the pictures that I've enjoyed quite a bit over the last year!
Recap Monochrome Monday
Recap posts are always a lot of fun for me. I don't get to do them very often, and I think that's okay. If we are constantly doing recap type posts, then we are not really generating new information or content but constantly rehashing the old stuff. That's not really my type of content!
When I do get to do them, it's usually at the end of the year or the turn of the new year and trying to take a look back at what the previous year brought. With it being that time of year again.. I figured I would try to get a recap on the books in terms of black and white photos!
We've taken a fair number of pictures throughout the year, which is pretty normal for us. At the tail end of the year though, we really didn't get to take much for various reasons! That was a little annoying, but it is what it is and we are moving on with what life gave us. I did really enjoy the Christmas photo shoot that we did at one of the local tree farms! I think this photo of the jingle bell sitting on the tree is certainly my favorite of the lot, of course there are others that I won't be sharing of the actual family but as far as standalone pictures, this one is my favorite in black and white!
Interestingly enough, even though I got minimal pictures from the autumn season, I did get a really great set and in a quick fashion!
I was out doing errands but driving by one of my favorite areas in terms of taking a little nature hike. This spot is wonderful, and it gives me the chance to get a bit of autumn photography done on a busy schedule. I ended up getting a few pretty good shots, but I think the one below is certainly my favorite of the bunch. I love how it is up close and personal to the leaves, and with it being black and white you can't quite tell that there are a wide variety of colors to the leaves but it does add a really fun element to it.
Certainly my favorite picture is the best for last type of thing.. I love the picture of the flamingo! The single eye open and looking at me is so dramatic! The flamingo seems to be tearing right through you, and peering right into your soul. That's some dramatic shit that's for sure! I have a few photos that I really enjoy for the year.. but this flamingo one is in the running for favorite photo of the entire year!
With it being black and white as well, it adds an extra element of wonder. I love how it reduces all of the variables and you are focused solely on the animal and that solitary eye. Pretty cool and dramatic stuff!
