I have always found train and subway stations to be amazing places to take photos. There is a lot to compose, play with shapes, structures, contrasts and people. In addition to that you can capture the daily life of passengers and transportation obviously. Every time I have my camera in these places I try to stop for a few minutes but I have not been willing to stay alone there, working on that topic.
I would like to try it someday, spend necessary time at different stations, surely I could get some great shots. Meanwhile I have compiled some shots while transferring between lines, I wanted them to be in black and white.
Lately I have much more preference for the absence of color in my photos.
There are certain things that can be interesting, railings, signs, minimal things.
Stairs is one of them, in fact. I would like to compose other images of stairs and invert them, you could get good perspectives.
For these photos I used an 85mm lens at f1.8, I was standing at the top of the station and took some photos of different people walking on the platform.
I wanted to look for something different, I didn't want to portray the entire person but a fraction of them, their legs or their torso.
Some were waiting for the train to arrive and others were simply walking from one side to the other.
This is a more general view of the station, taken with my phone in wide angle mode.
That's all folks! Thanks for stopping by and appreciating.
