This is so funny when I found that this insect was on the step of the stair case in at my parent's house. I have never seen it on the ground or away from the tree as the name of this species suggest.
Maybe that time I was a little bit lucky to find this bug on the ground so that I could get the photos without the twig distraction. The only problem that I have was that I photographed this insect when my son was around.
He was also interested to the insect a much as I was interested in taking photos of this guy. After getting a few shots, which unfortunately almost from the same angle and also the same pose, my son came and try to catch the insect, and boom it fly away taking away the chance of getting more photos. of course I could not be angry with my son, as I don't want to snatch in curiosity. Maybe I will be lucky next time to photograph it again on the ground.
This little insect is Northern Flatid Planthopper or Flatormenis proxima is a species of flatid planthopper in the family Flatidae.
