this post is my entry to Qurator photo quest: circles
the decoration inside Matthias church on the Buda side of Budapest is mind-boggling. it would take a large book to give a complete overview with a gigantic chapter on the fenestration and stained glass art alone. so i have decided to do the complete opposite and just present some details of a few of the windows.
some less prominent modern windows in the museum section of the church
The Lamb of God window. though this window is quite small it is nonetheless prominent as it is placed above the baptismal font near the entrance with no other windows near it. the wall around it must be very thick because it forms a spiral. the wall was very dark so i didn't get a good shot of the entire spiral and how gracefully it narrows down to the window.
of course not all the windows have to do with circles
at one time this was a Jesuit church so perhaps that is the reason there is a window dedicated to one of the order's founders, the famous missionary St Francis Xavier
