oh isn't tansy a fun one all flower heads and no petals. and such a nice scent. it's fairly common here but not like where i grew up in massachusetts. september roadsides and meadows blooming with tansy and a mix of different goldenrods and asters just as the leaves were turning...

It grows abundantly further north of me, and I have gathered seeds and brought them home and planted them in the flower border along the drive, and occasionally it will come back, but not reliably. This year I don't have any growing and I miss it.

i have heard about people planting it in their garden and it spreading too aggressively. at least you don't have that problem. must be the climate because they can thrive in almost any soil.
