One of my favorite aspects of doing macro photography is how you can make a subject seem larger than life. The little details that you might not notice tend to stand out more once you magnify them; flowers are a great place to find those things you might not pay attention to at a glance. Seeing the little structures that make up these living works of art is a great way to expand one's skills and take some time to appreciate the splendor of nature.
