Hello Writing Club!
You are all welcome to a new horror story.
Te Vendras conmigo / You will come with me (The curve of the nuns).
On the evening of Friday, April 10, 1995, Joseph Ramírez, 35 years old, who works as a bailiff at the courthouse in the city of Barquisimeto, leaves his job heading to the town of Sarare, a 45-minute drive away. In this town he had arranged to meet his lover Lucia Hernandez.
Joseph called his wife who was waiting at home and he told her that he would not go home that night, because his boss had told him that he needed to cover guard duty inside the courthouse.
Once the alibi was planned, José started to start his vehicle to go to the town of Sarare. Just as he was getting into the vehicle, another bailiff named Silva intercepted him and asked him;
-"Joseph, where are you going in such a hurry?
Joseph answers: -I agreed to leave tonight for Sarare to meet Lucia-.
His companion Silva, who was born in the Portuguesa state cradle of the greatest Venezuelan myths and legends, warns him;
-I recommend you not to go on that road at night, remember that we are on the eve of Holy Week and evil spirits are everywhere. Also, be very careful, the road is very lonely and dangerous.
he continued.
-You'd better go home and rest with your wife and children.
Joseph did not take into consideration those warnings of his friend and skeptical to everything mentioned he closed the door and set off to meet Lucia.
As he drove he thought of all the things he would do with his beloved. After about half an hour of driving along the desolate and gloomy road, he managed to spot a woman walking alone at a certain distance and on the side of the road. This caught his attention
-What will this woman do walking so late on this dark and lonely road? she asked herself-.
So he slowed down his car to get a better look at the woman, and as he got closer he noticed that it was a young woman dressed in a kind of black religious robe, as if she were a nun from a convent.
Joseph stopped his car at the woman's feet and asked her:
-Hello, where are you going?
The woman answers in a soft voice.
-Hello, thank you for stopping, I need to get to Sarare.
Joseph, without believing it twice, tells the nun to get in the back of the vehicle to take her. While they were on their way to Sarare, José tries to look for conversation with that woman, but his efforts were in vain, the woman did not answer his conversation, José only managed to hear some small murmurs as if it were a religious prayer, he thought
"maybe she is doing some prayer."
Shortly after, and in a very strange way, the lights of his vehicle went out and the engine also stopped in the middle of nowhere. José immediately got down and opened the hood of the vehicle to locate the fault, at that moment the vehicle started again as if someone had given the engine ignition.
Joseph quickly climbs into the vehicle and although he still ignores it along with religious companion heads straight to the afterlife.
Joseph sets off again with his enigmatic companion, who, as soon as he starts the car, starts mumbling again. Nervous and tense because of those sudden and frequent inconveniences, he feels uncomfortable because of those murmurings coming from the woman.
Joseph decides to increase the speed to reach his destination faster, at that moment a thick fog covers the entire road, in fear and discomfort because of the woman's murmurs, he decides to look in the rearview mirror to tell her to keep quiet.

What he never thought he would one day see became a terrible reality. As he looked in the rearview mirror of his car, he saw how the woman was turning into a horrifying skull with long, sharp teeth that said in a loud, intelligible and very terrifying voice:
Will you come with me.
Joseph seeing this horrifying moment, victim of fear and horror for what he had seen and heard, loses control of his vehicle and crashes directly into the security walls of the road. After a moment he manages to wake up from the shock of the accident and tries to flee from the vehicle that was completely overturned. Disoriented, injured and overcome by terror, he decides to walk towards a house that could be seen in the distance thanks to its lights on.
As best he could he reached and knocked on the door. He insisted, but got no answer, after a few minutes a man in his 60's came out and said from the window of that house.
! Son, a car has just crashed on the curve of the nuns¡
The police have already taken the body to the morgue! They say that he was traveling alone, his name was Joseph Ramirez, he was a bailiff and worked in Barquisimeto.
At that moment Joseph understood what his terrible fate had been.
End
This story was inspired by the popular and well known Venezuelan urban legend "La Curva de las monjas". There are people who claim to have lived terrible paranormal experiences in these curves that lead to the town of Sarare. This tragic event took place in the referred curve of the road in 1953, where 3 nuns lost their lives and it is said that since then the nuns appear to claim new victims.

Una vez planificada la coartada, José se dispone a encender su vehículo para emprender camino hacia la población de Sarare. Justo cuando iba entrando al vehículo otro alguacil de apellido Silva lo intercepta y le pregunta;
Su compañero Silva, quien era nacido en el estado portuguesa cuna de los más grandes mitos y leyendas Venezolanas, le advierte;
