Hello Hivers 😊,
Today I'm starting a series on an imaginary story I call trapped and this episode is called "The dawn". This is the first episode and I really hope you enjoy it.

The last drop of water from the shower had hardly ceased dropping when this man dragged his towel from the rail and walked out of the bathroom in a hurry, he threw some pair of jeans and a polo shirt after quickly drying himself with the towel, stuffed his map into his pocket, settled his pack on his shoulders and stepped out in a hurry.
A violent yellow sunrise was pouring through a rift in the clouds, it's a beautiful day he muttered to himself. He continued with determined strides to beat time and make it to work before 9am, he walked farther than he intended to because he didn't find a taxi at his usual spot, if he had chosen to look back, which he did not, since it was already 45 minutes past 8am he could have seen the splash of hue on the glasses of nearby stores as a result of the reflection of the sun and seeing it might have stroke cords of inspiration for him for his new project.
He walked fairly fast and doggedly, without looking much about him, like a man trying to shorten the was with some interesting train of thought, he was tall, 30 years of age, but was dressed with the shabbiness of a 50 years old, he might easily have been mistaken for a school master at first sight, he was talented photographer who buried his talent in the hands of a job that constantly tries to strangle him and squeeze out the little happiness of his life, he never had the courage to leave, to break free and live but his consolation was that he collected a cheque at the end of every month to settle his bills. His name was Presley, he was lonely and miserable, he had just lost his pet dog Pam.
He had hoped when he left his parents house, he would one day start his own family, a beautiful wife and two happy kids running around the house.
He arrived the office building 17 minutes past 9am, he didn't get the usual rush of anxiety for showing up late like he used to, at this point he wasn't interested in the consequences of his actions. He settled into his seat reluctantly and smiled at his colleagues in a way they could tell he didn't want to be there. His routine was, clear his desk, sharpen his pencil and write out the schedule for the day since he was the personnel Assistant to the manager of the firm then wait for phone calls from clients who just want to complain tirelessly.
One last glimpse at his messy desk was his que to leave the building, off to his usual spot, where he would sip his favorite wine and watch people sit in round tables talking about their experience and the ordeals of their day.
A lady darted out of the open doorway as he approached it and almost collided with him.
I beg your pardon, sir she said. I'm so much in a hurry that I didn't see you there.
He was too stunned by her beauty to be offended by what just transpired. He was a regular at this spot but have never set his eyes on someone as beautiful as her.
Do you work here, he blurted, after ransacking his brain for words.
No, said the lady. She spoke in a humbly fretful voice as if her mind were intent on saying more. Are you okay he asked noticing the disturbed look on her face. She looked down and muttered underneath her breath, when will I ever be good enough.
He was dumbfounded, how will someone as beautiful as this not think she is good enough, what could have happened to her inside there he thought. Do you mind sharing, he asked as looked into her eyes giving his full attention but she declined and insisted that she just wants to get home as soon as possible she said in a monotonous voice that did not express much emotion but Presley was standing sufficiently near to perceive that she was trembling and nearly crying.
It occurred to him that he should offer to take her home or at least call a cab for her but when he offered, she declined and moved slowly towards the walk way and entered the first car that was parked.
As he sat and sipped his drink, he began to think of possible scenerios that could have led to her reaction, what could have happened? he asked aloud with a perplexed countenance which drew that attention of the nearest waiter.
Did you need something sir?, The waiter asked
No he replied, but would you be kind enough to tell me what happened a while back, a young lady bumbed into me at the door, she seemed like something had happened to her, she looked quite embarrassed?.
The waiter assured him that there's has been no unusual happening in the bar and he didn't notice any young lady at the door when he saw him walk in.
Presley was shocked at this point because he was convinced he met a lady at the door, or was his mind playing tricks on him?
Did he not speak to someone at the door? He was battling within with questions but he smiled and thanked the waiter.
He sipped his wine in confusion, so no one else saw the beautiful lady?
To be continued...........
