A single, solitary owl fluttered across the open sky. It was a beautiful night for flying, and the bright moon made it seem like the world had been painted in silver by her light, so the lone bird glided across the clouds without a second thought of the cold.
The small creature flew for some time until finally, it came upon the outskirts of a small town. It alighted on a large tree near the edge of a forest just as the first rays of sunlight began to shine down through its canopy.

The sun rose, and with it, the cold began to set in, so the lone bird curled itself around the branch in an effort to stay warm. After a while, the warmth of the sun and the chill of the air began to lull it to sleep. Ah yes... ever so gently, ever so lightly, the bird felt its little self, falling into sweet slumber.

Then, without warning, the sky became cloudy and it seemed as though a thunderstorm was at bay - but that was no thunderstorm. Soon, a harsh clamorous noise sounded itself across the forest, shaking the trees and waking up the little Owl whom was fast asleep.

The sound, in tone, was loud enough that it seemed impossible that it had not awoken anyone up in the little village nearby. Soon, the people began yelling as they tried to take cover inside their houses. What on earth was going on?! Had it happened again? What sort of monster would attack this poor little village?

From the distance of the tree, the owl could spot a little girl whom had lost contact with her mother due to the stampeed of the villagers. Then, in horror, the bird watched as the girl in tears, gestured toward a creature that had broken into the villages gate.

The creature was nothing like any creature that had attacked the village before: it was at most 15 ft tall when it stood, had thick dark skin, one bright red eye, a long dreadlocked hair, and walked on all fours. He flitted from house to house, smashing through the wooden walls like glass! And devoured everything and everyone that came in its sight.

The little girl, whom had been somewhat paralyzed by the sheer sight of the creature before, had now finally decided to make a run for it. But as she got up on her feet, she felt a harsh tug in middle of her right femur as she fell heavily to the floor, crying pain. Unfortunately for the girl, the creature – whom had previously been wrecking havoc – now noticed the little girl in agony. And with a wide grin on its deformed dark face, it started sprinting towards her.

"Help me! Someone please!... My leg is hurt! Please!!!..." the injured girl cried out in despair as the creature steadily sprinted towards her. The Owl now, upon seeing this horrific sight, could no longer bare to stomach tragedy and so with the swiftness of a speeding bullet, the owl charged towards where the girl sat helpless.

The screech that came from this creature, I can assure you, was indisputably vile. Merely only inches away from the girl, it widened it's mouth open and pounced up in the air in order to devour the little girl. But thankfully, the owl came from the side of the creature and landed a large peck on the one evil eye of the gruesome monster, as it shrieked and fell to the other side of a building.

By this time, the mother of the girl had spotted her child and rushed quickly to where the girl and the bird were staying:

"Sarah!... Sarah! Are you okay? Are you hurt?" the mom spoke anxiously with floods of tears in her eyes.

"I'm fine mom." the girl replied to crying as she consoled her mother. "He saved me" the girl spoke as she pointed towards the bird.

The mother then, raised her head and looked to the sky above to find the flying owl whom had just saved her daughter. And with a heavy smile full of gratitude and relief, she said:

"Thank you... Oh, thank you!"

The bird soon gestured for the two to runaway as the creature slowly began to emerge from the rubble of the building. So the mother immediately carried her daughter on her shoulders and began running for their dear lives.

Alas, as the little girl watched how the brave Owl stood it's ground against the creature right there from her mother's shoulders, she couldn't help but shed painful tears as witnessed the horrifying monster make waste of the bird....
