TRIUMPH IN A BATTLE WITH MARTYR, BLOODLUST, AND ENRAGE!

Ability Focus

In this week's Social Media Challenge, I want to draw your attention to some powerful abilities that can boost the stats of your beloved Monsters in your lineup. These abilities, when used strategically, can become game-changers in your battles.

By carefully selecting and timing these abilities, you can enhance your Monsters' performance, increase their chances of surviving tough encounters, and potentially turn the tide of battle in your favor.

Enrage - Has increased Melee attack and Speed when damaged

Bloodlust - Every time it defeats an opponent, it gets +1 to all stats

Martyr - When this Monster dies, adjacent Monsters get +1 to all stats

Mastering these abilities could be the key to securing victory and dominating your opponents. Let's dive into these abilities and explore how they can elevate your gameplay to the next level. 😎

The Battle

While fulfilling my responsibilities in the Splinterlands scholarship account I have with Balthazar, bltzr-wizard-729, I was able engage in a battle that showcased the effectiveness of synergizing all the above mentioned abilities especially in a Born Again ruleset. To get right into the action, the battle link can be found here. Otherwise, do read on as I go into more detail regarding the lineup and fight.

Now, let us take a closer look at the rulesets for this battle. Firstly, we have the What Doesn't Kill You ruleset, which grants all Monsters the Enrage ability. Secondly, the Fire & Regret ruleset gives all Monsters the Return Fire ability. Lastly, the Born Again ruleset grants all Monsters the Rebirth ability. The battle has a mana cap of 22, and only the Fire, Earth, and Life Splinters are permitted.

Summoner, Lobb Lowland

With a relatively low mana cap and the Born Again ruleset in play, I was inspired to implement a strategy that would catch my opponent off guard. By selecting the rarely seen Lobb Lowland Summoner from the Earth Splinter, I can effectively utilize a Gladiator Monster. Additionally, Lobb Lowland imposes a -1 Speed debuff on all enemy Monsters throughout the battle, further tilting the scales in my favor. This combination of surprise and strategic debilitation aims to secure a decisive victory! 😉

First Position, Fungus Flinger

Placing the Fungus Flinger in the first position as a tanker might seem unusual, but this strategic decision was essential for my battle plan. Despite its lack of notable offensive or defensive abilities, Fungus Flinger excels in its role as a sacrificial unit, providing vital support to the main star of this battle. By positioning Fungus Flinger in front of Quora Towershead, I can effectively leverage its Martyr ability, granting crucial stat enhancements to Quora Towershead upon Fungus Flinger's demise! 😅

Second Position, Quora Towershead

As one of the rare Monsters with hybrid proficiency, Quora Towershead can deal both Melee and Magic damage. When its Bloodlust ability, a unique trait of Gladius Monsters, is triggered, it becomes an even more formidable force. Although Quora Towershead cannot use its Melee attack from the backline, the main objective is for it to endure until it reaches the first position. By then, it will have received all the power-ups needed to boost its stats and unleash its full potential! 💪

Third Position, Venari Marksrat

Similar to the Fungus Flinger, the Venari Marksrat from the Neutral Splinter excels in its role as a sacrificial unit, providing crucial support to the main performer in the ongoing battle. By strategically placing Venari Marksrat behind Quora Towershead, I can effectively utilize its Martyr ability. This ensures that upon its demise (killed or be killed by Return Fire), it bestows essential stat enhancements to Quora Towershead, strengthening my lineup and increasing the chances of victory! 😂

Last Position, Fungus Fiend

Honestly, the Fungus Fiend made it into my lineup primarily because I had used up my mana on other team members. However, with its 0 mana cost, why not take advantage of this "freebie"? Additionally, at max level, the Fungus Fiend has the Slow ability, which applies a -1 Speed debuff to the enemy's lineup, potentially playing a crucial role in this low mana cap battle. At the very least, it can serve as a fodder unit, absorbing attacks from the enemy's turns! 😵

The Analysis

To be honest, I didn't put much thought into this battle and simply formed my lineup hastily. This departure from my usual approach, which typically involves careful strategizing and planning based on my opponent's potential moves, was quite unusual.

Given the low mana cap and the Born Again ruleset in effect, I hoped that the enemy would quickly eliminate the rest of my team, which included the Fungus Flinger and the Venari Marksrat. Upon the demise of these Monsters, thanks to the Rebirth ability through the Born Again ruleset, each would bestow a double Martyr boost to their adjacent unit, strategically enhancing Quora Towershead in this scenario! 🤗

See below screenshot where my team got decimated and was left with Quora Towershead to fight the rest of the enemies' team!

After my relatively weak lineup was decimated, Quora Towershead emerged, having received the Martyr's boost and experiencing a remarkable surge in power. Despite enduring significant damage from the opposing forces, Quora Towershead persevered and swiftly recovered using its Heal ability. By dispatching the enemy's units, it further boosted its attributes through the Bloodlust ability.

Look at the insane stats that Quora Towershead possess after receiving the boost from Martyr, Bloodlust and Enrage!

In the end, Quora Towershead emerged as the sole victor, single-handedly securing my triumph! 😤
