The Battle Ruleset
Broken Arrow: Ranged attack Monsters may not be used in battles.
This is a low mana ruleset game and every color is available to play except the Water and Life Splinters. The Death Splinter is an amazing choice for me, because I love to debuff the strongest attack type in the game, which is the magic.
Many times when I play with the Obsidian my opponent brings Thaddius and counter my team completely, so it is better to choose this Splinter.
My Team Composition
Thaddius Brood is a good choice for this ruleset, because I thought the opponent will brought some magic attack monster and it was a low mana game. He gives -1 Magic and Health to all of the enemy monsters and he cost only 4 mana.
The Cursed Windeku is a great tank, especially on higher levels, because he gets the self Heal and Thorns ability. He cost only 6 mana, which makes him an auto include into this game thansk to his high health.
The Venari Bonesmith is leeching life from his targets increasing his own health. He also has the Poison ability, which is an excellent extra damage when the 50% chance triggers on his target.
The Life Sapper is another life leecher and it is good to have few of them in a battle where there is not too much mana and support in the game. He doesn't have any other ability, but his 3 mana is an excellent cost.
The Uraeus is a three mana monster and he has the Sneak ability, so he will target the last monster from the enemy team. The Poison is a perfect combination with the Sneak to eliminate any support from the opponent backline.
The Silent Sha-Vi is another Sneak monster with a lot of damage, speed and quite okay health. He is one of the best monster in the Death Splinter.
The Corpse Fiend is a zero mana cost monster to soak up some attacks from the enemy monsters. |

My strategy worked, because my opponent brought a lot of magic attack cards and luckily he brought Fernhert from the Earth Splinter and not the Obsidian. His summoner gives a buff to the ranged attack monsters, but in the Broken Arrows ruleset they are all banned.
With the help of the Poison I killed his little tank in the first position, because the Cursed Windeku is a much superior tank with self Heal.
It was a good idea for my opponent to use the Regal Peryton as a last monster without Camouflage, because he has high speed and the Flying ability, so it was very difficult for my Sneak attack monsters to hit that target.
The debuff from the Thaddius helped a lot to reduce the magic attack from the enemy monsters and I would have died long before I could win this game.
Do you like the Briar Patch? Why or why not?
Yes, this ruleset is not bad, we can try to use magic and melee attack monsters without the ranger creatures. It is easier to build a good team with two type of attack monsters only, but there is much fewer options as well.
