Grund has spent his entire life in the lowlands of Praetoria and has grown to love the land and its people. First introduced to the lore of battle as a hatchling, he has studied it ever since with enthusiasm. When he became a juvenile his hands found steel, an old rusting sword abandoned and forgotten in the swamp by some intrepid explorer. Before long it became an extension of himself as he applied all he had learnt, quickly mastering blade work. From then on, he became obsessed with the art of armed combat and he practised with any weapons he could get his hands on.
When he first met Bera Dallin in New Everitt he couldn’t help but marvel at her martial prowess. After having spent some time with her he became proficient in the use of the warhammer. His great strength meant that he could hold one in a single hand and so it wasn’t long before he acquired another and began to dual wield them in combat.
Grund is well loved amongst the people of Praetoria and he is a staunch defender of them, his strong ideals of honour and justice infused within in from a young age. When he heard of the Chaos Legion invasion, Grund took up his hammers in anger and sought them out immediately.
The Stats of the Grund
Grund is an epic melee attack monster within the Earth Splinter. He has big health with three attack and speed on level one. He has Double Strike ability on level one. He will receive Trample and Cripple abilities on his higher level.
Double Strike : Monster attacks twice each round.
Trample : When a Monster with Trample hits and kills its target, it will perform another attack on the next Monster on the enemy team.
Cripple : Each time an enemy is hit by a Monster with Cripple it loses one max health.
My Team
Obsidian is a four mana cost summoner within the Earth Splinter. She gives one magic attack to all of her friendly magic creatures. | |
---|---|
The Chain Golem is a legendary melee attack creature with Shield ability on level one. He will receive the Void ability on level two therefore he is a perfect guardian against any type of enemy monsters. | |
Grund is a ten mana cost epic melee attack monster with huge damage attacking twice in every round. | |
The Goblin Psychic is the best magic attack healer in the modern game mode. He has a lot of ability: Tank Heal, Affliction, Silence and Dispel. Those are amazing, because we can use different strategies in different rulesets. | |
The Uloth Dhampir is a rare ranged attack monster with Stun ability and big stats. If he hit his target with Stun the target creature will pass it's turn until the next round. He will get the Triage ability on level five and he will heal the most damaged monster in the backline. | |
Kron the Undying is a legendary magic attack card with big health and three attack. He has Heal and Divine Shield abilities on level two. | |
The Mycelic Slipspawn is a rare magic attack creature with Taunt ability from level one costing nine mana. His ability is very useful, because my enemy can't focus their damage into one monster. Instead he will split his damage between my Slipspawn and my tank. |
The Battle Rulesets
Melee Mayhem: Melee attack Monsters can attack from any positions.
This is high mana cap ruleset and three color can play: the green, blue and white.
The Battle
This ruleset allowed only three color to choose from, which is the Water, Earth and Life, in a high mana and Melee Mayhem battle.
I choosed the Earth Splinter with Obsidian, because I wanted to use Grund, who was the Monster of the Week.
Obsidian gives one magic attack to all of her magic attack monsters, therefore I used some magic attack creature in my team.
The Goblin Psychic healed the tank and the Uloth Dhampir healed my Mycelic Slipspawn in my backline with his Triage ability, so I used two support to protect my backline and tank against my opponent.
I used the Chain Golem as a normal tank and Grund as an attacker from the second position who will attack twice thanks to the special ruleset.
My opponent choosed Grandmaster Rathe from the Life Splinter, who gives one armor and Amplify ability to all of his monsters. Every armor vill receive Void ability.
My Battle: https://splinterlands.com/?p=battle&id=sl_217a3f18f1155780b2478da627e82a1c
My strategy did not worked, because Grandmaster Rathe is the best counter against a magic team like the Obsidians.
My opponent choosed Uriel as a tank, which is my favorite from the Life Splinter. He has big armor which became a Void armor and Adele Brightwing repaired this in every round. When Uriel died, Adele resurrected him with a lot of Armor.
The Void armor is very bad against my magic attack monsters, because it will be able to block all the incoming magic damage as well.
Uriel is able to Fly, which means that he has 25% chance to evade any melee and ranged attacks and when he is damaged he will receive more speed and damage from his Enrage ability, therefore my Grund missed a lot against him. 😅
His level three Jared Scar is a very dangerous in this ruleset, because he has a True Strike ability, which will makes him not to miss their target.
Unfortunately, I lost this battle. My Obsidians magic team had no chance to win against Grandmaster Rathe and his team.
Do you like the Grund? Why or why not?
Yes, he is a very good monster from the Earth Splinter with good stats and great abilities. He is a similar monster like Undead Rexx. Grund doesn't have any armor or Shield therefore I recommended to use him in special rulesets like Melee Mayhem, Equal Opportunity with high mana. 👍
