Hello, splinter-warriors. I hope you all are doing well.
Today, I will share a battle in the Wild Bronze Leagues where the key feature was the strategy of the summoners. Why that's important you might ask? The variety of attack patterns was greatly reduced thanks to the battle rules making this game interesting.
Without further ado, let's begin!
Battle Conditions
The mana cap is 40 and all the summoners are on board for this battle.
Battle Rules:-
- Shades of Grey: Only neutral units may be used in the battle.
Keeping the high mana cap and Battle rules in mind, I had to pick the summoned that would give me all kinds of buffs and whatnot. Ultimately, I chose a summoner that would reduce the ability grants of other summoners and made sure to use a high-level monster.
Battle Details
Let's start from my side:
Summoner: Mantarth(Ability: Shield, Armoured Strike).
Ranged Attacker: Gargoya Devil(Ability: Flying, Close Range, Deathblow).
Magic Attackers: Magi of Chaos(No Ability), Moxian Rebel(Ability: Weapons Training).
Non-Attacker: Scavo Hireling(Ability: Repair).
Melee Attacker: Uraeus(Ability: Sneak, Poison).
My strategy was to go on a full-on assault from the front while doing a small hit from the enemy back lines and maybe inflicting a status debuff. I wanted my tank to have high armour and HP, so to sustain the armour, I used Scavo to repair it. I also used Rebel to train Scavo, which would do the magic damage from the front. I placed Gargoya behind the tank since it had the flying ability, that way it had a chance to evade the incoming attacks, except for magic damage.
The overall damage per round is 17 with +2 shield for the tank.
Now, for the opposition:
Summoner: Keyla Frendul(Ability: Increase in Shield and Speed for all ally monsters).
Tank: Xenith Monk(No Ability).
Blocked Melee Attack: Disintegrator(Ability: Demoralize).
Magic Attacker: Venari Spellsmith(Ability: Dispel).
Ranged Attackers: Gobson Bomber(Ability: Recharge, Camouflage), Gargoya Devil(Ability: Flying, Close Range), Supply Runner(No Ability).
His strategy was to attack me from the front strictly. That is why, he used and placed his Disintegrator behind his dummy monster(tank) to prolong the decrease of incoming melee damage by 1 for all melee monsters. He also used a monster that could nullify buffs received through the martyr or bloodlust ability and used a monster that would do 3x the damage every even-numbered round which further added to the overall damage output. Lastly, he used a similar ranged attacker just before his common ranged attacker to ensure it could do damage should all the others in the front fall.
His overall damage per round is 8 and 14 in every odd and even numbered round, respectively.
Major Events
The first monster to fall was his dummy tank in the final half of the round although it received 1 damage less from my tank through the melee.
The second monster to fall was his Disintegrator at the first half of the round.
At the first half of the round, his first magic attacker fell while all of my monsters were active and tank received a daily shield restoration of 2.
At the final half of the round, his Bomber was done and dusted and his Supply Runner was afflicted with poison status, therefore it was scheduled to fall in the next round.
In the final half of the round, his Gargoya Devil was taken out by my Gargoya Devil and it received the deathblow.
Results
Had he used a tank/monster that had the void ability, it would've been really difficult for me to pin him down let alone have a few monsters standing by the end of the deck.
