Today, I will share a battle that had all the exotic monsters a monster gathered could ask for in a common ground. Amid all the titans, the victory went to the one with the foresight.

Without further ado, let's begin!

Battle Conditions

The mana cap is 50 and there are 4 summoners to choose from: Water, Nature, Life, and Death.

Battle Rules:-

  • Standard: No change to standard gameplay or mechanics.

Keeping the humongous mana cap and the battle rules in mind, I went with the faction with the higher level, my favourite, The Death Summoner. Therefore, the monsters that come along with him are undoubtedly the best in my arsenal. My opponent used the aid of nature summoner that granted an additional ability.

Battle Details

Let's start from my side:

Summoner: Thaddius Brood(Ability: Decrease in HP and Magic damage for all enemy monsters)(Level 5).

Tank: Harklaw(Ability: Shield, immunity, Demoralize).

Melee Attackers: Arachne Thug(Ability: Reach, Trample), Silent Sha-vi(Ability: Sneak, Cripple).

Ranged Attackers: Queen of Crows(Ability: Close Range, Headwinds), Dhampir Stalker(Ability: True Strike, Deathblow).

Blocked Melee Attacker: Night Ghoul(Abilty: Taunt).

My strategy was to hit the opponent heavily from the front while slightly pecking his deck from the deck all while all the incoming damage would be diverted toward my taunt attacker. Since it had 10 HP with 5 shields, it had the potential to withstand 1 round. So, I bought 1 round of immunity for my other monsters and wanted to go on a full-on attack on his tank and the monster at the back of his deck. Additionally, I had a tank that would reduce the amount of incoming melee damage and further reduce the overall melee damage by 1 for all enemy attackers. That way, I ensured that my shield and sword(other monsters) would be able to neutralize their shield and go on an onslaught. I fully expected him to use a healer or ranged attacker at the back of his deck. I also used a ranged attacker that would reduce the incoming ranged attackers' damage by 1.

My overall damage per round is 14. The reduction in his damage would be 1 per monster on average since I have the damage reduction for all 3 damage types. Should he use monster that would have multiple attack types, it would be reduced that many times.

Now, the opposition's deck breakdown.

Summoner: Lobb Lowland(Ability: Decrease in speed for all enemy monsters and grants a gladiator monster to be used in the deck)(Level 4).

Tank: Grund(Ability: Double Strike).

Dual Attacker: Quora Towershead(Ability: Bloodlust, Heal).

Magic Attackers: Venari Spellsmith(Ability: Dispel), Spirit Hoarder(Ability: Triage), Suidae Shaman(Ability: Recharge), Mycelic Splipsawn(Ability: Taunt).

He used a tank that would strike twice and thus pull a hefty damage. To add to that on my tank, he used a gladiator monster behind his tank so that if it fell, that monster would do twice its base damage, trigger its bloodlust and increase its overall stats while the monsters behind it would continue their assault. He used a healer to heal the monsters at the back of his deck. That way, he ensured that the monster sucking up all the damage got healers and thus prolonged the survival chances. he paired it up with a dispel user as he expected a monster that would also try to increase its stats mid-game. Finally, he used a monster that would do damage every other round. Should the other monsters fall, he would endure explosively high damage at every even-numbered round.

His overall damage per round is 18 at every even-numbered round while constant damage of 12 with 3 healing.

Major Events

At the start of the round, his overall damage per round was decreased to 11 damage per even round, and 8 damage per odd round.

The first monster to fall was my taunt attacker as it had no healer while both his tank and taunt user were at their critical level.

In the final third of the round, his taunt user fell while his tank braced for impact.

And down went his tank making it a 4 v 5.

After another round of survival, my tank fell in just after half the round had passed and thus they turned the tide to a battle of 4 v 4 but my overall HP and damage were significantly higher than his.

In the final half of the round, his prized bloodthirsty monster fell, so only the scrawny monsters on his team remained.

In the final turn of the round, his dispel user was brought down, so a 4 v 2 was to be continued.

At the end of the round, both his monsters were taken out by my Arachne Thug, a fierce assault monster.

Results

As soon as I saw a 50 mana cap, I instantly knew I had to reduce the incoming damage by 1 or 2 since the opposition would try to use tanky monsters with high damage. Therefore, I used monsters and summoners that would reduce the incoming damage giving me an edge over his attacks. His strategy was eerily similar to mine except he used a gladiator monster and no additional reduction to the incoming damage. He only delayed the incoming damage thus granting him the upper hand as he would get to attack first.
