Hello splinter-warriors, I hope you all are doing well today.
Today. I will share with you guys a battle that is sure to grab your attention to the monster that will surely benefit you in the long run.
Without further ado, let's begin!
Battle Conditions
The mana cap is 31 and there are 5 summoners to choose from: Fire, Water, Nature, Life, and Death. This is a moderate amount of mana, a good Water and Death monster lineup could be built. And, that's exactly what me and my opposition did.
Battle Rules
- Keep Your Distance: Monsters with melee attacks may not be used in battle.
Battle Details
Let's start from my side:
Summoner: Thaddius Brood(Ability: Decrease in Hp and Magic damage by 1 for all enemy monsters)(Level 5)
Tank: Djinn Muirat(Ability: Void Armour, Knockout, Giant Killer).
Magic Attacker: Revealer(Ability: Stun).
Non Attackers: Riftwing(Ability: Flying, Scavenger, Backfire), Scavo Hirelinng(Ability: Repair).
Ranged Attacker: Zyriel(Ability: Weapon Training, Life Leech, Divine Shield).
My strategy was to repair my tank's shield. His overall HP would increase thanks to his Void armor ability. That way, my ranged attackers would be able to do more damage, and hence Zyriel would be able to suck in more HP. I placed Revealer directly behind the tank. That way, he would stun the enemy tank, and hence our overall damage per round would be significantly higher than his.
My overall damage per round would be 14, with a 2 HP increase by Zyriel and a 2 shield increase by Hireling.
Now for the opposition:
Summoner: Keyla Frendrul(Ability: Increase in speed and shield by 1 for all ally monsters)(Level 2).
Tank: Baakjira(Ability: Void, Slow).
Ranged Attackers: Venari Marksrat(Ability: Martyr), Swamp Spitter(Ability: Repair).
Magic Attacker: Oshanuus(Ability: Void).
Non-attacker: Merdaali Guardian(Ability: Tank heal).
His strategy was to make the battle draw out as much as possible. He used a tank that would reduce my monsters' speed by 1. Thanks to his tank's ability, his Swamp Spitter would constantly increase its shield to 1 and his Merdaali Guardian would heal up the tank. Should his tank fall, he used Marksrat who, on death, would increase Oshanuus' stats, including damage, and therefore doing greater damage. Moreover, his overall HP and shield would be constantly restored by Spitter and Guardian which would further prolong the battle, and over time any level of damage from the opposition would fall.
His overall damage per round was 5, with 2 HP from Merdaali and 2 shield gain from Spitter.

Thanks to my summoner trait, his overall damage was decreased by 1, this little permanent reduction helped me maintain the upper hand even though my monsters missed their shots for 3 rounds straight.
The battle was very long drawn since both of us planned for a drawn-out battle. His strategy was very good tbh. His tank would be healed in both ways and with his new tank(Oshanuus), my monsters were constantly missing their mark. That way, he was gaining on my damage per round. But, somehow, my monsters were able to make contact and I won with Zyriel gaining 3 HP from it all. My contingency plan was, even if my monsters were to fall, Zyriel would have enough HP to tank for a few rounds until Scavo Hireling would be able to hit his mark and beat the opposition tank. It would've come into effect if not for my summoner. This is why, Zyriel can be used in a dynamic way and people should use this monster more often.
