Today, I will present a battle that portrays the raw abilities of monsters in my arsenal.

Without further ado, let's begin!

Battle Conditions

The mana cap is 59 and there are 4 summoners to choose from: Nature, Life, Death, and Dragon.

Battle Rules:-

  • Super Sneak: All monsters have the sneak ability.
  • Silent Monsters: Summoners do not give any stat buffs or debuffs or grant/use any abilities.
  • Even Stevens: Only monsters with even mana cost may be used for battle.

Keeping the Battle rules and mana cap in mind, I chose a summoner that had a huge variety of monsters in his arsenal; I also have ideas on how to use them and place them, therefore, I chose the Death summoner.

Let's start from my side:

Summoner: Thaddius Brood(Ability: Decrease in HP and magic damage by 1 for all enemy monsters)(Level 5)

Tank: Harklaw(Ability: Shield, Immunity, Demoralize).

Melee Attackers: Arachne Thug(Ability: Reach, Trample), Cursed Windeku(Ability: Thorns, Heal), Dumacke Orc(Ability: Shield).

Magic Attackers: Kain Hace(Ability: Blast, Reflection Shield), Venari Bonesmith(Abiliy: Life Leech, Poison).

My strategy was to use my high-level monsters with HP for the attack while using my magic attackers to focus on their tank and the unit behind it. I took a huge risk by placing Kain in the middle of my deck as it had the lowest HP, any opportunity attacker would be able to one-shot it, that's why I used Dumacke at the end of my deck. He could attract any opportunity attackers in the enemy deck and reduce the incoming melee damage by half. I also placed my shield attackers at both ends of the deck, that way the incoming damage would be reduced while maintaining HP. Moreover, my tank can reduce the melee damage by 1 for all enemy monsters.

My overall damage per round is 15 with a 4 healing/HP increase. Adding in the damage from thorns, poison, and blast comes to 21 damage per round.

Now, for the opposition.

Summoner: General Sloan(Ability: Increase in ranged damage by 1 for all ally ranged attackers)(Level 3)

Tank: Chaos Knight(Ability: Shield).

Magic Attacker: Time Mage(Ability: Slow).

Ranged Attackers: Supply Runner(No Ability), Pelacor Rbalest(Ability: Double Strike), Venari Crystalsmith(Ability: Tank Heal), Prismologist(Ability: Blast).

His strategy was to commence a full frontal attack with a reduced speed of all enemy monsters, that way his monsters would strike first and probably get a kill in the first round. That way, each round, his chances to win would increase proportionally. He used a tank with shield ability to reduce the incoming melee damage by 1. That way, he bought himself an extra round of survival for all the low HP monsters in the back.

His overall damage per round was 15 with 2 healing.

Major Events

Screenshot (2189).png

The first monster to fall was his Prismologist as it could no longer take the barrage of attack from my melee attackers.

Screenshot (2191).png

Next, my tank fell as the incoming damage was high and the demoralize ability was useless since most of his monsters were ranged attackers.

Near the end of the round, both his tank and magic attacker fell thanks to Kain and his blast damage.

At the end of the round, his only healer fell leaving 2 of his ranged attackers, ready to be taken down now that my monsters were back to their pace.

Next, both his monsters were taken down by Kain alone thanks to his ability.

Results

I fully counted on the fact that players do not use magic attackers that have sneak ability, that way it was sure to withstand high-damage dealers' attacks for a max of 3 rounds. I also love to keep 1 unit that can either heal itself or tank or other units as insurance to lengthen the game. He may have missed the cue on the battle rules as it stated that monsters' abilities would not be allowed, had it been allowed his monsters would've had a higher chance to overthrow mine in the first few rounds.
