Today, I will show you guys a match from which I learned a lot and I must say that my strategy was better than my opponent's. I did pick better monsters from my arsenal but he also had an amazing deck build.

Without further ado, let's begin!

Battle Conditions

The mana cap is 43 and there are 4 summoners to choose from: Fire, Nature, Life, and Death.

Battle Rules:-

  • Born Again: All monsters have the Rebirth ability.
  • Fab Four: Upto 4 units can be used.
  • Noxious Fumes: All monsters start the battle poisoned.

I went with the aid of Death summoners because their debuffs and the addition of the battle rules are bound to make things difficult for any summoner he would choose from. Moreover, I can have high-level monsters thanks to my summoner level.

Battle Details

Let's start from my side:

Summoner: Thaddius Brood(Ability: Decrease in HP and Magic damage by 1 for all enemy monsters)(Level 5).

Tank: Harklaw(Ability: Shield, Immunity, Demoralize).

Ranged Attackers: Venari Marksrat(Ability: Martyr), Zyriel(Ability: Weapon Training, Leech, Divine Shield).

Non Attacker: Almo Cambio(Ability: Immunity).

My strategy was to reduce the incoming attack while increasing my stats and have immunity from the debuffs from the rulesets. With this thought, I used 2 monsters that had immunity and they would not get poisoned. I used *Zyriel for training the non-attacker. I placed Marksrat between the non-attacker with the high HP and my tank. That way, I was sure to get a stats boost, twice. Lastly, my tank had the additional ability to decrease the melee damage by 1 for all enemy melee attackers.

My overall damage per round is 10 and a potential increase in HP of 2. Over time, my overall damage would increase by 3.

Now, the opposition's strategy.

Summoner: Lobb Lowland(Ability: Decrease in speed by 1 for all enemy monsters)(Level 8)

Tank: Thane Newsong(Ability: Inspire, Strengthen).

Magic Attackers: Goblin Psychic(Ability: Tank heal), Mycelic Splinspawn(Ability: Taunt).

Melee Attacker: Katrelba Gobson(Ability: BBloodlust, Sneak, Double strike, Snare)(Level 5)

His strategy was to divert all incoming damage toward one tanky monster while keeping his tank alive which would buy enough time for his centerpiece to eliminate opponents and trigger bloodlust. He used Thane to increase his overall melee damage and Goblin to hear his tank. To divert all damage, he used Splipspawn. His main monster was Katrelba; the bloodlust together with the double strike ability was extremely useful and was a surefire way to secure a kill, trigger bloodlust, and gain a stats boost.

His overall damage per round is 8 with a 3-HP increase. Over time, that would increase by 2.

Major Events

Screenshot (1953).png

After the first round, the first death was experienced by my Marksrat, and thus I got an increase in damage by 2.

Screenshot (1956).png

After half the round had passed, his Splinspawn died for the second and final time thanks to my Zyriel.

Next, his tank fell for the first time. After it's rebirth, the poison status was lifted and that's how it cleansed itself.

Screenshot (1959).png

After half the round had passed, my Zyriel fell for the second and final time. Soon after, his tank also joined Zyriel.

His healer was put to rest the moment it set foot on the tank's position at the end of the round. Gobson eliminated Almo once and triggered bloodlust, thus his overall damage was kept equal to his original damage.

Finally, his bloodthirsty monster's attack was cut in half thanks to my tank's ability. At the end of the round, his only monster was brought down.

Results

Now that I think about it, I think using Riftwing instead of Almo would've been better there were about 2 units that died each round, and for 7 rounds there would've been an increase in 14 HP. Together with the base HP of Riftwing, it would've far superseded Almo's HP even after getting the stats boost.
