Splinterlands game has got 2 game formats to play. One is called modern and another is called wild. Both formats are available for any player to play in the game and even one player can choose to play in both formats. Both formats have different card requirements. I mean for the modern form we can use cards only from the Chaos Legion edition to the latest one which is called Rebellion but in the wild all the cards from any edition can be used. Both formats are available on the same page and we can switch just a toggle button. The reward is slightly better in modern but Its fine as I don't think that its substantial.
I have been playing wild format since and its because most of my cards are from old editions. In the wild, I can use all my cards but with modern, that is not possible. It's not that I never used to play in the modern day instead I played for a couple of seasons but I find wild a better option in the game and the primary reason for that because it allows me to use all the parts in this format of game so I choose to play with this. Even if the reward is higher on the modern side because the difference is not so substantial that I need to be worried about its fine for me and this is the reason why I continued playing in the wild format for a long.
To be honest I never did the comparison of rewards between the modern and wild but whatever I receive in the wild format is good enough for me and I'm happy with whatever reward I get through my daily questions and season and reward. I know that there are so many automated players in the world format but in modern that is the least possible which I think is also okay for me.
If there is someone who wants to play in the game with real players only then Modern is the right place but if you are fine with playing with automated players then Wild can be a better option for you and even you can choose to have bought with you that can play on your behalf even when you're not playing. I have even a try to the modern format of the game as well but I did not do well because maybe there are more skilful players there and winning over them is not easy however I find it quite convenient in the world format so I continued with it.
Even a few months back I wanted to make a switch from wild format to modern and plan to buy more cards from the Rebellion edition. This is the latest edition in the game and this edition is specifically for the game players because these cards cannot be used for battle play but then I put a pause on the planning however it is not cancelled but maybe it will take a couple of months for me to think about it again.
For now, I am happy with whatever parts I have and not planning to invest anymore on the cards however SPS is still my consideration I'm trying to grow more and reach my milestone of 200k sps tokens holding. Undoubtedly playing battle in the Splinterland game with so much fun and entertaining and I do it whenever I have spare time to make it more fun level cards are certainly required. I don't think playing with basic cards is fun anymore and most of my seminar cards are in level 4 or 5 maybe after a few months, I will try to upgrade them once the SPS milestone is done.
