Every team needs a strong frontline to take in all the damages caused by the enemy which makes choosing the monster to be a tank important. The tank monster defends the backline monsters in your chosen lineup, ensuring them to be alive in the battle.
For this week's Share Your Battle Challenge, the monster to be use in the battles is the Chaos Knight, a common melee attacker in the Life element from the Chaos Legion edition.
In this battle, I choose Chaos Knight as the tank, and all the monsters in my lineup is within the level guide of the Silver League.
Here is my featured battle for this challenge.
BATTLE RULESETS
- Weak Magic: Magic attacks hit armor before reducing health.
- Lost Legendaries: Legendary Monsters can't be use in battles.
- 34-mana capacity battle.
BATTLE FORMATION STRATEGY
I choose The Peakrider as my summoner, giving +3 Armor to my summoned monsters, and removes -1 range damage to enemy range monsters.
For the first position or the tank position, I choose the featured monster Chaos Knight. A common melee attacker in the 5th level with a stats of 3 melee, 3 speed, 3 armor, and 5 health. It reduces the damage it receives thank to the Shield ability, and cause double damage to monsters with a 10 or higher mana call cost.
Second position is the Luminous Eagle. A rare melee attacker in the 4th level with a stats of 3 melee damage, 3 speed, 1 armor, and 6 health. It can attack the first position monster in this position because of the Reach ability. It also have a high chance of evading melee and range attacks thanks to the Fly ability.
Third position is the Feral Spirit. A common melee attacker in the 5th level with a stats of 2 melee, 6 speed, and 3 health. With the Sneak ability, it can attack the last position monster of the enemy.
Fourth position is the Divine Healer. A common magic card in the 5th level with a stats of 1 magic, 2 speed, and 5 health. It heals the first position monster thank to the Tank Heal ability.
Fifth position is the Venari Crystalsmith. A rare range attacker in the 4th level with a stats of 2 range, 3 speed, and 5 health. It also heals the first position monster with the Tank Heal ability.
Last position is the Silvershield Assassin. A rare melee attacker in the 4th level with a stats of 2 melee damage, 4 speed, 1 armor, and 5 health. Same with the Feral Spirit, it also attacks the last position monster of the enemy thanks to the Sneak ability. It also attacks twice because of the Double Strike ability.
BATTLE
As you can see in this battle, there is a difference in terms of monster levels. My monster's level is on the Silver guide while the opponent is on the Novice/Bronze guide.
In the first round, the ability of the Peakrider activated instantly, giving all my summoned monsters with +3 armor. For my sneak monsters, instead of attacking the last position monster of the enemy, it attacks the first position monster because of the Taunt ability of the enemy tank. It is a good opportunity for my sneak monsters to remove the armor instantly. The damage of the Chaos Knight in this round has been reduce by half due to the ability of the Halfling Alchemist of the enemy.
Second round is where the armor of my Chaos Knight has been removed officially. The enemy tank is also defeated as well as the first healer of the enemy monster, making the enemy's Halfling Alchemist to be in the first position and unable to make a attack.
In the third and final round, the remaining monsters of the enemy were composed of only range attackers which were defeated instantly, leading to my victory with all my chosen monsters the one still standing in the end, earning me 13.664 DEC from the reward pool.
DID YOUR STRATEGY WORK?
The strategy I choose in this battle worked skillfully. With the ability of the Peakrider giving additional armor to my chosen monsters, they were more durable to the attacks of the opponent's monsters. Even if the armor of my Chaos Knight is removed in the 2nd round, the tank heal support of the Divine Healer and Venari Crystalsmith is outstanding, making the Chaos Legion to last longer in the battle, Also with the Double Strike ability of the Silvershield Assassin, It feels like I have another attacker in my lineup leading for me to have more advantage in terms of damage.
DO YOU LIKE USING THE CHAOS KNIGHT?
I don't often use the Chaos Knight in battles as the tank because I always choose between Shieldbearer and Pelacor Conjurer for the first position but for this opportunity of using the featured monster and sharing my experience, I find the Chaos Knight to be a good tank monster. I think it is a good monster to use in the higher league with its ability to give additional melee damage to its allies due to the Inspire ability which is available in its higher level. With the Melee Mayhem and Equal Opportunity ruleset, it can fully utilize its full potential in the battle.
