The Silent Sha-vi is a staple in any Modern Black team. Especially when used in combination with Thaddius Brood's life debuff, this Chaos Legion monster speedily erodes the back-line of your enemy.
Overall Impressions
Good at just about any mana, this card is very useful. The high base speed makes a difference on several occasions. The price of the card reflects its use too, currently well above some equivalent cards in the same set.
Team gold foil with a Thaddius summoner is too much here for team Bortus Level 1. Silent Sha-vi is effective. Low mana Death splinter seems good, especially with the -1 life debuff.

New card on display here. Great to see the Ever-Hungry skull, especially dominating here in Equalizer rules. The Sha-vi goes to work from the backline in a, well, silent way.

Thaddius wins again here. This time over a legendary summoner! The Deepswimmer seems so good in theory. The high base speed on the Silent Sha-vi actually makes a noticeable difference to this battle.

Thaddius again, but versus Kelya. The battle is a draw. Not much to say except even very different teams can still be evenly matched.

The new beats the old. Thaddius is just about a direct counter for Alric, and you see it here. Also Black's cheap magic, such as the Life Sapper, shine through.

Silent Sha-vi with Thaddius seems to be both a popular and successful combination. In Back to Basics rules, the card's high base speed is a factor once again.

Thaddius and Sha-vi are too much for Tarsa here. It seems a solid combination. Where are the games with Cripple and Pierce though. Let's see them!

Thaddius is again too much for Tarsa here, even at slightly higher levels and under Explosive Weaponry rules. Isn't Red meant to always win with Blast?

The level difference here doesn't make it a fair match. The level 2 Kelya is never going to have much change against a decent level $ Thaddius hand.

Again a sever level imbalance, and again Thaddius coountering Alric. It's nice to see the days of Level 1 Alric dominating over to be honest.

Fancy gold cards and old cards lose here to a solid Modern Thaddius team. I think every game so far has featured this summoner. Zintar doesn't cut the mustard any more it seems.

Llama is still a bit broken when a Level 1 can draw with a Level 4 Thaddius. But the fun solutions to Llama keep rolling in. Soon it may go the way of Alric.

And for the grand finale we get to see the Silent Sha-vi win at a higher level with Cripple. And against some nice old cards too. Definitely a nice one to watch.
