Misscalculation optimizing strategy in Rise of Common Ruleset

what's up Splinter Player around the world how are you doing? I am sharing my battle this time in new format of battle challenge that can be a lesons for you guys, this time i am misscalculation about the total attack and defence in Rise of Common ruleset. I am thinking that using magic attack especially in Silver League is still the best to outcome opponent defence. But, this can be a pretty good lesson especially after new rewards card release and Rebellion card release.

Rise of Common ruleset description is Only common and rare units may be used in battles.Summoners are unaffected by this rule. So we just need to arrange monster in the battlefield with just common and rare monster only, we cannot use epic and legendary monster in the battle. Sometimes it is pretty hard to arrange the line up. I am prefer using Epic and Legendary monster since Epic and Legendary monster still having many great ability that can make the strategy complete. But, somehow this ruleset make the battle to be simple battle. And thats why we need to calculate the outcome both defence and attack.

Okay before going to tell my strategy, i want to share that not long time ago i am starting again and activate my main account Arveno i am join in TeamPH guilds and helping in brawls. Thats why i am activate this account again. And as you know i dont have any card in this account, i sold all cards that i have in the last sps staking update to get rewards. Especially when helper and bot dominate the game. I give up to playing my main account. Thats why this time i am just renting some cards to do brawl and ranked. And this battle and especially with the ruleset of Rise of Common as a human i am not in the mood to calculate. Maybe i am just tired losing so many battles wether because of people using helper or just human player that great. So, that make this battle i am doing misscalculate the out come of the defence and attack. As i remember using Magic monster is far greater than using melee or range monster in this ruleset. I just think that there are no monster that having Void armor or Void ability. thats why i am decided to bring magic monster with me. But, thats the case lazy to know make me lost in this battle and misscalculating everything. Okay back to the ruleset. As you can see in the picture above this battle have just 1 ruleset that is Rise of Common that means both player just can bringing common and rare monster rarity, but still can using Epic and Legendary summoner. The manacap that can be used in this battle is just 27 which is prety low but it is okay for this ruleset, many common and rare monster rarity just having low manacost. The element that cannot be used in this battle is Life and Death element. Since i am renting, this battle i am just limited to using fire element and earth element. I am not renting water element this time.But yeah let's see what i bring into this battle,aye. You can look in the table below

Summoner+1 MagicI am just thinking in the beginning that using magic monster will give direct hit and ignoring the armor of opponent, i think that the opponent surely using Water element and i think when Rise of Common ruleset opponent cannot bringing Djinn Oshannus as a tank that can hold my magic attack.Thats why i am using this summoner and element.
Frontline TankerNoneHill Giant is really fit to be a frontline tanker this monster is just cost 3 mana and having high amount of health that can hold opponent attack especially when talking about just common and rare rarity. Despite of the speed and low melee attack, this monster can be reliable for the rest of the team.
Filler TankerUsing Mycelic Morphoid in second place it think it can be useful somehow, i think when placing Mycelic Morphoid whenever my frontline tanker got defeated by melee monster this monster can replacing as a frontline tanker and if got attacked by opponent melee monster it will give backdamage from thorns ability. And if opponent using Opportunity ability it will targeting this monster first before another monster since this monster having the lowest health and when get hit by opponent melee monster that using opportunity it will give backdamage too because of the thorns ability.
Attacker I am bringing this monster because this monster having pretty good ability that is dispel that can return opponent buff status back to normal status and the amplify ability that can buff the backdamage in this case when opponent hit my Mycelic Morpoid and get thorns damage, the damage can be buffed. And the most important is this monster is magic type attack that can get buffed from my Obsidian as a summoner.
Attacker This is the first mistake that i am done, i forget that in Earth element there is limited choice in magic monster especially in Common and rare rarity. Supported by the manacap that very low. So i am using this monster even though the level is not qualified for silver league but still this monster having pretty good magic damage especially when get buffed from my summoner Obsidian. I am hoping this monster can leeching opponent line up and get more sturdy after leeching some health.
Support & Attacker Goblin Psychic having pretty important role in this battle because this monster can support my tanker by healing it and this monster also having pretty good magic attack and if got buffed from my summoner it will give great impact to opponent line up. Not forget to mention that this monster also having afliction ability that can make opponent cannot be healed again after got this effect.
AttackerI am placing Regal Peryton in backline to be on guard if opponent using sneak ability monster and if opponent having low speed it will make the opponent having high chance to miss attacking this monster. Also this monster having pretty good health amount that can survive in few attacks. This monster magic attack can be as an attacker too. Especially when get buffed from my summoner Obsidian.

Okay this is my strategy. I think it is not too bad. But this is my mistake. I am forgot that magic monster in Earth element is very very slow and having very low defence. Almost of the magic monster in earth element has low health and don't have any protection on it. Thats why my line up like easy target to be killed.

As i predicted that opponent will using Water element. But when i am encountered in the first time i am not realized that opponent will using speed and melee damage to defeating me. I am just thinking that my magic damage still can outcome opponent line up. But it turns out that i am wrong and yeah i am really messed up with the calculation. Forget about speed need to be considered too. So how the battle goes lets see from round 1

Round 1

As usual both parties got buff and debuff from both summoner and monsters. In my team all magic monster got 1 additional magic damage and in opponent side got 1 speed buff and 1 additional armor from opponent summoner Kelya Frendul ability. I dont expect that opponent will bring melee monster combined with speed like that. And this is my fault that bringing magic monster in this battle. So in first movement i am pretty sure that in instant opponent line up will defeat my line up pretty easily. In the first movement my Regal Peryton attacking opponent Diemonshark and activated Enrage ability. then opponent Diemonshark attacking my Hill Giant and make it wounded badly. After that opponent Deeplurker defeated my Myceli Morphoid and thorns effect just break the armor. Then opponent Pelacor Bandit missing attacking my Regal Peryton following by opponent Merdaali Guardian healing Diemonshark. Then opponent Venari Marksrat attacking my Hill Giant. After that my Venari Spellsmith attacking opponent Diemonshark following my Madcap Magnus luckily attacking Venari Marksrat ( In every scattershot i dont know why my line up always attacking opponent martyr monster first,bug or not i dont know exactly but almost always like that) then my Goblin Psychic attacking opponent Diemonshark and make it affliction. After looking that total magic attack cannot defeated opponent frontline tanker in 1 round. I am pretty sure that i am lost this battle.

Round 2

In round 2 opponent Diemonshark attacking first because this monster having enrage status that make Diemonshark got speed and Melee damage buff. The attack make my Hill Giant defeated then it will activated trample ability and defeated my Venari Spellsmith. After that my Regal Peryton defeated opponent Diemonshark and then opponent Deeplurker defeated my Madcap Magnus. After that opponent Pelacor Bandit succed hit my Regal Peryton then opponent Venari Marksrat attacking my Goblin Psychic and my Goblin Psychic healed itself and hit opponent Deeplurker and this time make opponent Deeplurker got affliction too. But i can say it useless for now. My army just leaving by 2 monster that is Goblin Psychic and Regal peryton it will be hard to defeated opponent line up.

Round 3

In round 3 even though my Regal Peryton gives attack to opponent Deeplurker it cannot defeat opponent Deeplurker that will make my team lose this time. After my Regal peryton attack,then opponent Pelacor Bandit attacking my Regal Peryton and hit it. After that opponent Deeplurker attacking my Goblin Psychic and leaving just 1 health and then finished by opponent Venari Marksrat. And with that just leaving my Regal peryton in my team. It need miracle from RNG GOD to make me win the battle. and it absolutely impossible. But maybe if i am using helper or cheat bot i can win this battle. Because i often seen opponent in this situation can win the battle when encountered with me.

Round 4

This round is the last round that i am lost, at last the RNG GOD is not with me of course. But, in this round my Regal Peryton still fight back to opponent line up and defeated opponent Deeplurker, but yeah my Regal Peryton can dodge opponent Pelacor Bandit this time and got defeated.

Conclution

After seeing this battle i am realized that speed also important aspec in splinterlands to make a pretty good line up. Maybe i forgot about the speed ascpect because i am tired got bullied by the RNG. Even when the speed different of the opponent monster with my monster almost 5 speed the opponent still can hit me. And in contrary when my monster speed just having 1 speed different with opponent monster still can miss the attack. I think it ofthen happened to me. Thats why it makes my mind not clear and i am misscalculation in several battle. And yeah i am thinking that magic still can defeated opponent melee monster combined with speed since magic attack can direct hit to opponent Monster, but i am forgot that my line up did not having any protection at all. and it super easy to get defeated. Thats why i am lost in this battle. Maybe in the future battle i will considering that using Water element combined with speed and melee attack will stronger than using magic attack.
