Hello everyone, this time I will be participating in this Splinterlands Challenge, showing you a battle in the modern league where only units with ranged attacks will be allowed.
First, let's talk a little bit about Anachron Bolter, one unit that both my opponent and I used in the battle, she is one of the rebellion cards that has 2 types of attack (magic and ranged), she is also a great unit against ranged units because of her Headwinds ability, which reduces the attack of enemy ranged units by 1. For an 8 mana creature, she has pretty good stats.
She gains the the Repair ability at level 6, this is also good not only for ranged enemy units but also for melee monsters, thanks to this ability she can repair the armor of an ally each round.
In this battle, in addition to only ranged units being allowed on the battlefied, all units except those in the first position will be forced to attack the enemy unit with the lowest health. Additionally, due to the Earthquake ruleset, all non-flying units will take 2 pyshical damage at the beggining of each round, starting in the second round.
So considering all the rulesets, I decided to use Eternal Tofu once again, a great legendary summoner that will give +2 health to all my units, and most importantly, all my units will get the Snare ablity, which means that when they attack any enemy unit, they will remove their flying ability if they have it, and they also have 100% accuracy against them.
I decided to play a defensive strategy this time, to make this work I used Anachron Bolter and Venari Crystalsmith, and with the help of Eternal Tofu they will be very difficult to defeat.
Anachron Bolter, because as I say before she will help reducing the enemies ranged attack by 1. And Crystalsmith thanks to its Tank Heal ability, will heal Bolter each round, but who will heal Crystalsmith since it is not a flying unit, and will take damage from the earthquake ruleset? That's why I chose Tofu, to give the Triage and Scavenger ability to Bolter, who will gain +1 max health each time any unit dies, also will also heal a unit in the backline each round. Therefore, Crystalsmith will receive the healing from Triage and hopefully this will be enough for it to survive.
In the first position I used the 2 mana unit, Xenith Archer. I then used two units with the martyr ability, Venari Marksrat and Fungus Flinger, which when defeated, their adjacent allies will gain +1 to all stats, and due to the Opportunity and Earthquake ruleset, will be defeated quickly.
In the second and fourth position, as I say before, the units that will shine together, Anachron Bolter and Venari Crystalsmith respectively.
And in the last position, Pelacor Arbalest, who can attack twice per round and since he already has the Flying ability he will not receive damage from the earthquake.
In the first round, Venari Crystalsmith defeats enemy Fungus Flinger, who returns to the game due to enemy Commander Goff's Resurrect ability. The enemy Fungus is defeated once again by my own Fungus Flinger.
Pelacor Arbalest defeats the enemy Venari Marksrat, further increasing the stats of enemy units.
In the second round, due to the earthquake effect, my Venari Marksrat is defeated. Then, the enemy Anachron performs a double kill by defeating my Xenith Archer and Fungus Flinger.
And my Venari Crystalsmith defeats the enemy Great Porcupine.
In the third round, the enemy Venari Crystalsmith is defeated by the earthquake.
In the fourth round, no unit is defeated. But in the fifth round, Commander Goff is another victim of the earthquake effect.
In the sixth round, the enemy Anachron was almost defeated by my Arbalest, but he missed an attack.
Then, in the seventh round, enemy Anachron Bolter is defeated by the earthquake effect, ending the battle.
In this battle, thanks to the Triage and Scavenger ability that Tofu provided to my Anachron Bolter, she was able to gain up to a total of 19 max health, meaning that Venary Crystalsmith healed her for 6 HP per round. The Triage ability was very useful in keeping my Crystalsmith in the battle, healing it each round.
Even tough my Anachron was only level 4, thanks to her ally's healing, she was able to win against the level 8 enemy Anachron.
That's all for now, if you haven't played Splinterlands yet, you can join with my referral link. See you on the battlefield!
