Hello everyone, this time I will be participating in this Splinterlands challenge, which is about to share strategies that effectively work in battles.
One of my favorite strategies, is one of the most used in the modern champion-league, is to use Eternal Tofu as summoner, and put Grimbardun Smith in the first position.
Why do I like this strategy?
And if that weren't enough, it allows you to choose between the left tactic or the right tactic.
The left tactic grants the Corrosive Ward (does 2 armor damage, if the unit is attacked by a melee unit) and the Divine Shield (ignores the first damage) to up to 3 units.
And the right tactic grants the Triage ( heals the backline unit that has taken the most damage each turn) and the Scavenger (the unit gains +1 max health each time any unit dies) ability to 1 unit.
Now let's check the abilities of Grimbardun Smith, first of all, he has the Immunity ability, which means he is immune to Affliction, Poison, Snare, Weaken and many others negative effects.
In addition to that, he has the Void and the Shield ability, which reduces the attack of magic, melee and ranged attacks by 50% (rounded up). This makes him very durable in battles.
And last but not least, he has the Repair ability, which allows him to restore up to a max of 2 armor to the friendly ally who has taken the most damage each turn.
Grimbardun Smith is very resistant but lacks healing, so units with the Tank Heal are necessary so that Grimbardun Smith is not easily defeated.
And since I know this strategy is very common and the enemy can used it too, units with the Scattershot ability are great against this defensive combo. Acid Shooter, among others, are very good, those are to destroy the healing unit in the background, and then attack Grimbardun.
Now let me show you a battle, where I use this strategy.
Grimbardun Smith in the first position, then 2 legendary fiends that cost 0 mana. After that to heal Grimbardun, Venari Crystalsmith in the fourth position. A Scattershot unit in the fifth position, and in the last position, another 0 mana unit, Elanor Bravefoot.
In the first round, all units survive, but Acid Shooter manages to apply Poison to the enemy Vulguine, so in the next round it will die quickly.
In the second round, after Vulguine takes 2 poison damage, it is defeated. The enemy Soul Fiend is then defeated when it attacks and the thorns ability takes effect damaging it for 2 damage. After that, Elanor Bravefoot attacks and defeats the enemy Pelacor Conjurer. And Acid Shooter also defeats an enemy unit: Celestial Harpy.
In the third round, my Soul Fiend defeats the enemy Time Mage. Doctor Blight is left alone on the enemy side, and in the fourth round is defeated by Acid Shooter.
This was a dominant battle on my side, all my units survived and the enemy units were quickly destroyed. This shows how powerful Eternal Tofu is in combination with Grimbardun Smith, who, while he withstands the enemy attacks, my backline units defeat the enemy lineup.
Counterstrategy!
The Expose ability is very good against Grimbardun. The units with this ability have a 80% chance to remove Forcefield, Lookout, Reflection Shield, Shield, Void, Void Armor, or Immunity after a successful attack. Expose will always remove Immunity first.
At the moment, Cryptic is the only summoner that can give 2 units the Expose ability, and there is only one unit that has this ability on its own, Riklauniman.
That's all for now, see you on the battlefield!
