Splinterlands Challenge — Jared Scar VS Riklauniman

Hello everyone this time I will be participating in this Splinterlands Challenge, where I will show you a battle in the modern ranked league, one of which only units with an attack power greater that 3 are allowed, therefore units without attack such as Grimbardun Smith or Chaos Agent cannot be summoned.

First, let's talk a little bit about Jared Scar, a legendary neutral unit from the chaos set that I will be using in this battle. It is currently the only light unit that has an attack power of 7, a unique creature.

This warrior creature has an incredibly powerful attack, but is very slow to attack with only a speed of 2. It doesn't have many hit points or armor for a 7 mana unit, so protect it with other units.

Jared starts at level 1 with the BLOODLUST ability, becoming more powerful with each unit he defeats, increasing all of his stats by 1.

At level 2, he gains the TRUE STRIKE ability, meaning his attacks will have 100% accuracy.

And at level 3, he gains the PIERCING ability, so if his damage exceeds the enemy target's armor, the remaining damage is applied to the target's health.


Since Jared Scar has low armor and health, the rulesets that allow him to attack from the backline position are very good for him:

The Melee Mayhem ruleset will allow him to attack from any position.

The Equal Opportunity ruleset will allow him to attack the enemy unit with the lowest health, increasing the chance of easily defeating units and gaining more stats.

The Super Sneak ruleset will alow him to attack the enemy unit that is in the last position.

If you want to protect your units from Jared's attacks, there are some abilities that are great against him:

The THORNS ability will damage Jared after he attacks an enemy, as he is a melee unit, which will deal 2 physical damage.

Units with the RETALIATE ability have a 50% chance to counterattack when hit by a melee attack. If combined with the Piercing ability, Jared will be in trouble.

Units with the FORCEFIELD ability are very defensive against Jared, as they will only take 1 point of damage from a base attack power greater than 5.


HOW TO OBTAIN

Available on the Marketplace, at the time of writing this post there are only level 1 copies of Jared Scar to buy, there is one for $0.95 and then many cards for $1.00.

In Golden Foil there are only 3 cards, 2 cards at level 2 each for $21.25 and one at level 3 for $42.50.

BATTLE

In this battle, as I mentioned at the beggining, only units with an attack power greater than 3 can be summoned due to the Might Makes Right ruleset.

Also, all units will gain the Divine Shield ability, meaning that the first non-poison damage they take will be ignored thanks to the Holy Protection ruleset.

Finally, all melee units will be allowed to attack from any position they wish thanks to the Melee Mayhem ruleset.

This time there is a considerable mana cap of 53, so I can use some powerful mana units.

Both the opponent and I use the useful Eternal Tofu as our summoners. We both choose the right-tactic of Tofu, the opponent decides to give Venka, the Triage and Scavenger ability; and I grant those abilities to my Jared Scar. Therefore, they can heal a backline unit each turn and gain +1 max health each time a unit is defeated.

In the first position, I used Mycelic Infantry, which takes 50% less damage from melee and ranged attacks. Also, it deals double damage to units with 10 mana or more thanks to its Giantkiller ability. Additionally, when this unit is not at full health, it gains 50% bonus melee power and speed.

In the second position is Lord Thanalor, who gains +1 max health each time any unit dies. He also reduces the armor of the enemies by 2. Additionally, it will amplify the damage from the thorns provided by Eternal Tofu.

Venari Crystalsmith in the third position, who will heal the frontline unit each round for a third of their max health. And Venari's attacks dispel positive buffs from the enemy target.

Jared Scar in the fourth position, ready to become more powerful with each unit he defeats.

Then I put Pelacor Arbalest, who can attack twice per round, and has the flying ability, so he has a 25% chance to evade melee and ranged attacks from non-flying units.

And in the last position is Mycelic Slipspawn, which has the Taunt ability, drawing the attention of enemy backline units' attacks towards it. It also has the Forcefield ability, so it takes 1 damage from attacks with a power greater than 5. In addition, it reduces the speed of enemies by 1.


In the first round, Fizbo the Fabuluos defeats my Mycelic Slipspawn. After that, my Jared Scar defeats the enemy SilverBlade Fighter, increasing Jared's stats by 1. Then, my Mycelic Infantry destroys the enemy Jared Scar.

In the second round, Riklauniman defeats my Mycelic Infantry with a ranged attack. After that, my Jared Scar defeats Venka the Vile, further increasing his stats.

In the third round, Jared Scar defeats another enemy unit, this time Fizbo the Fabulous is the victim.

In the fourth round, Delya defeats my Lord Thanalor. Jared Scar then defeats Riklauniman.

Enemy Delya survives in the fifth round, but in the sixth round, Delya is defeated by Jared Scar, ending the battle.

This is a battle where Jared Scar shows how powerful he is in specific rulesets like Melee Mayhem, which allowed him to attack from the backline position, where he is safe from attacks from enemy units.

This time, Jared was able to destroy 5 enemy units, gaining up to a max of +5 to all stats, reaching a high melee attack power of 12.

The opponent also played Jared Scar an other powerful units like Venka and Riklauniman, he also summoned Fizbo, who granted protection to his adjacent allies from the thorns damage, but his lineup lacked defense against my Jared's powerful melee attack. That's why I managed to defeat enemy units faster than my opponent. I won the battle with 3 units alive.
