In this challenge, I'll show you one of my battles using only monsters that cost 0-2 mana, with the Holy Protection ruleset.
This week, the ruleset we have to introduce for this challenge is the Holy Protection ruleset, which gives all units on the battlefield the Divine Shield ability. What does it do? the unit with this ability will ignore the first damage taken, leaving it unharmed. The Divine Shield does not stack, so monsters with this ability do not receive this effect twice.
Poison still deals damage to monsters with Divine Shield (the shield is not removed), being the only ability that Divine Shield does not block at the moment.
If a monster that had Divine Shield is resurrected, it will be re-applied. For now, only the Rebirth and Resurrect ability resurrects monsters.
Currently, only one summoner grant this ability to its allies:
There are currently 14 monsters that have Divine Shield:
Since the Summoners are silenced, I choose General Sloan not for his skill, but so I can play with my light monsters. Well, I didn't have much choice since only light and dragon summoners can be used in this battle. | |
---|---|
Since I need to spend the little mana wisely, in the first position I choose Gargoya Scrapper, which may not be the best tank monster, but it only costs 1 mana and will take reduced damage from magic attacks by 50%. | |
Literally, a chicken is my next card as it costs no mana, making it a very useful card for low mana battles. And thanks to the Holy Protection ruleset, it will take 2 enemy attacks to defeat this chicken. | |
In third position, Celestial Harpy, who as a harpy can fly, having a 25% chance of evading melee and ranged attacks from non-flying monsters. And its attack will always go to the enemy monster with the lowest health instead of a linear attack, unless this card is in the first position. | |
In fourth position, Creeping Ooze, my second card in my lineup that costs only 1 mana, this gelatinous friend has no attack, but has the Slow ability, which reduces the speed of enemy monsters by -1. | |
In fifth position, Dax Paragon, the only light magic monster that costs 2 mana at the moment. Who, like his allies, also inflicts only 1 damage, but that is fine since little by little they will defeat the enemies. | |
And in the last position, Xenith Archer, who like her magical ally also has no abilities and will only deal 1 damage. |
Round 1:
The enemy Pelacor Conjurer and Soul Fiend lost their Divine Shield, and my Xenith Archer lost 2 hit points.
Round 2:
Celestial Harpy destroys Enemy☠️Soul Fiend.
Enemy Uraeus defeats ☠️Xenith Archer.
Round 3:
Celestial Harpy destroys Enemy ☠️Pelacor Conjurer.
Round 4:
Enemy Uraeus defeats ☠️Dax Paragon.
Enemy Stitch Leech defeats ☠️Gargoya Scrapper.
Round 6:
Celestial Harpy destroys Enemy ☠️Stitch Leech.
Enemy Uraeus defeats the ☠️Furious Chicken.
Round 9:
Celestial Harpy ends the battle by destroying ☠️Enemy Uraeus.
This was a very close battle, I won because the enemy Snake was slower than my Harpy thanks to my Creeping Ooze. The Divine Shield helped a lot, since if it weren't for it one of my monsters would have been defeated every turn by the sneak enemy monsters.
