Hello everyone, this time I want to share with you one of my battles in this Splinterlands Challenge, proving that Obsidian can still win battles against a powerful summoner like Cryptic.
But first, I want to show you what I got in the chests after advancing to Diamond II this season.
Unfortunately, I didn't get any rare or higher rarity cards, but at least I got a lot of merits which I used to buy gladius packs and open them.
In the gladius packs, besides the common and rare cards, I got at least one epic and one gold card. Nothing bad.
This is a battle on my alt account langice, I used mostly magic monsters because in the Aimless ruleset I prefer to use them over ranged units, so to increase the magic attack of my magic units I chose Obsidian as my summoner.
In the first position I put Pelacor Mercenary, because I wanted to use a 7 mana melee monster, and it has good stats, and some good abilities. Then for only 1 mana, Halfling Refugee. In the third position Mycelic Slipspawn, its taunt ability won't be useful this time, but it still has 3 (+1) magic attack power and slows enemies. Regal Peryton, thanks to its high speed and flying ability, has a better chance of evading potential ranged attacks. In the fifth position, Venari Marksrat with its new skin for Halloween, if defeated it will empower its allies. In the final position, Runemancer Florre, who will do the most damage at least in my lineup 'cause she has two type of attacks.
Unfortunately, in the first round, the enemy Delya attacked my Regal Peryton twice successfully and was defeated. Then, my Mycelic Slipspawn, destroyed the enemy Daarg Deadblast.
In the second round, Delya defeats another unit of mine, this time Halfling Refugee.
Then, on my side, my Runemancer Florre destroys Chaos Agent. And Mycelic destroys Venka the Vile.
In the third round, the enemy Delya kills another, this time the Pelacor Mercenary. And my Mycelic destroys Mantaroth.
In the fourth round, Runemancer destroys Halfling Refugee. And Venari Marksrat is defeated, when its attack on Delya fails.
In the fifth and final round, Runemancer ends the battle by destroying Delya.
I felt like my opponent played more powerful cards than me, but because of the Aimless ruleset and thanks to Obsidian giving +1 magic attack to my units, my backline magic monsters performed better, destroying the enemy units quickly.
And that's all for now, if you haven't played Splinterlands yet, you can join with my referral link. See you!
