This week's post is a battle review of one of the more interesting matches I've had recently. It is a standard match with 25Mana, and a battle between the earth and water decks.

Kelya Frendul vs Wizard of Eastwood
I noticed that my opponent frequently uses the water splinter with the Kelya Frendul summoner and relies on the plus one speed boost as well as +1 armor for all his summons. I decided to try a bit of counterplay by selecting the wizard of eastwood which debuffs monster enemies with a minus 2 armor.
The Lineup
I went with a balanced lineup combining melee ranged and magic attacks. My strongest tank the Unicorn Mustang takes first position, I also included the Failed Summoner in case there are magic damage dealers. My Goblin Thief with the sneak ability will deal damage to the backlines, while the Child of the Forest with the snipe ability will take care of ranged or magic damage monsters, the Venari Scout is also included in my lineup and with its opportunity ability will focus on low health monsters, the Khmer Princess completes my roster giving magic attacks.
The oppoent selected the high armor Cruel Sethropod in the first position, the Albatross will be acting as off tank, and a third tank is included by including the Hardy Stonefish. I could see that the Deeplurker with its high speed and opportunity ability will be the main source of damage. In the back is the Merdaali Guardian which will provide tank heal, and Gargoya Devil which is an armor ranged hero that has the flying ability making it harder to hit and can attack in the front due to its close range ability.
Round 1
Because my wizard of eastwood was able to negate the additional armor buff. My child of forest was able to take out the albatross instantly with a snipe ranged attack.
On the 11th turn of the first round. My venari scout was able to take out the hardy stonefish in one opportunity attack. I was also lucky that the deeplurkers attack on the child of the forest was evaded due to it's high speed. My unicorn mustang took some damage but remained at high hp. While the cruel sethropod took some hits from my tank and already lost armor.
Round 2
My khmer princess dealt damage to the cruel sethropod from the last round. Reducing it's HP to 3. And with high speed my monsters were first to attack. The child of the forest dealth damage to the merdaali guardian. And the unicorn mustang dealt the killing blow to the cruel sethrapod eliminating it from play. I am already having a huge lead as i still have my complete lineup of 6 monsters. While the enemy is left with his final 3.
The deeplurker and gargoya devil dealt significant damage on my unicorn mustang. But while it stands a just 2 health points. I scored another kill with my Goblin Thief eliminating the Gargoy devil from play. The Venari Scouts attack on the Merdaali Guardian unfortunately was evaded. This round will end with my Khmer Princess dealilng 1 magic damage to the deeplurker.
Round 3
The child of the forest attacks at the beginning of the first round dropping the merdaali guardians health significantly low with 1hp left. My unicord mustang was able to connect with an attack on the deepluker. However, the merdaali guardian was able to heal it for some hp. And after the counter attack, my unicorn mustang is sent to the graveyard. I have to eliminate that healer and fast.
With the failed summoner, moving into first position. My Goblin thief went for the jugular sending the merdaalil guardian to the graveyard. It is a 5v1 matchup with my lineup having a comfortable lead in this match.
After attacks from both the Venari scount and Khmer Princess Round 3 ends with the deeplurker critically low with 2 hp left.
Round 4
The failed summoner managed to survive an attack from the Deeplurker. And with combined attacks from the goblin thief, children of the forest, venari scount and khmer princess. My victory for this match has been secured.
