Hey Splinterfam! Welcome to this week's battle mage secrets focused on one of my favorite rulesets: Reverse Speed. Let's see what it's all about and its implications on the battlefield.

🐌 Reverse Speed
This battle rule states that monsters with the lowest speed will be the first to attack and the fastest ones the last. This also influences the evasion rate, so these low speed units will have a high chance of dodging attacks.
Esta regla de batalla nos propone que aquellos monstruos con la menor velocidad serán los primeros en atacar y los más rápidos los últimos. Esto también influye en la tasa de evasión, por tanto estas unidades de baja velocidad tendrán una alta probabilidad de esquivar ataques.
Each splinter has at least 1 low speed unit, some melee, some ranged and some with magic attacks. However, it seems quite difficult to get 1 splinter to have enough units to put together a full lineup of low speed units.
Cada splinter tiene al menos 1 unidad de baja velocidad, algunos melé, otros rango y algunos con ataques mágicos. Sin embargo parece bastante difícil conseguir que 1 splinter tenga suficientes unidades para armar una alineación completa con unidades de baja velocidad.
With the arrival of Chaos Legion, Riftwatchers and Rebellion editions a splinter has benefited from having a wide range of low speed monsters on its roster that make it virtually unbeatable in the reverse speed ruleset: The earth splinter!

In the battle I am going to share with you I want to demonstrate the great potential that the earth splinter has to successfully overcome this ruleset. Let's begin!

We start this battle with a wide margin of mana (45) and the possibility of choosing water, earth, death and dragon splinters and in addition to the reverse speed ruleset, it is accompanied by 2 more: only ranged attack monsters can be used and they can only be common and rare units. These are conditions that greatly favor the earth splinter, below I explain why.
Comenzamos esta batalla con un amplio margen de mana (45) y la posibilidad de escoger los splinters de agua, tierra, muerte y dragón y además de la ruleset velocidad reversa la acompañan 2 más: solo se pueden usar monstruos de ataques a distancia y solo pueden ser unidades comunes y raras. Estas son condiciones que favorecen ampliamente el splinter de tierra, a continuación te explico porque.

🧙♂️Summoner/Invocador: Immortalis
When it comes to reverse speed, most people choose to assume a magic attack strategy and that happens because they don't want to deal with the probabilities that a poorly designed RNG throws at this game, so they usually use magic attacks that always hit and also ignore defense. With Immortalis we will give magic resistance to our units and the possibility of breaking enemy shields.
Cuando se trata de velocidad inversa la mayoría opta por asumir una estrategia de ataques mágicos y eso pasa porque no quieren lidiar con las probabilidades que arroja un RNG que está mal diseñado en este juego, así que por lo general usan ataques mágicos que siempre aciertan y además ignoran la defensa. Con Immortalis le daremos resistencia a la magia a nuestras unidades y la posibilidad de romper los escudos enemigos.
👾 Monsters/Monstruos: Gelatinous Cube
The Gelatinous Cube will be our best tank not only because of its high health, but because this unit has the ability to increase its maximum health through the scavenger ability and can also heal itself in battle, so it becomes a really difficult tank to eliminate.
El Cubo Gelatinoso será nuestro mejor tanque no solo por su gran cantidad de vida, sino porque esta unidad tiene la capacidad de aumentar su vida máxima mediante la habilidad carroñero y también puede sanarse en batalla, asi que se convierte en un tanque realmente difícil de eliminar.
👾 Cyclops
Our second unit is offensive in nature, the Cyclops has a very low speed which ensures that it will attack at the beginning of the battle but it also has a high resistance to melee/range attacks and finally it has the ability to stun the enemy, in short it is a very complete card for this type of battle.
Nuestra segunda unidad es de carácter ofensivo, el cíclope tiene una muy baja velocidad lo que le asegura que atacará comenzando la batalla pero también tiene una alta resistencia a los ataques melé/rango y por último tiene la capacidad de aturdir al enemigo, en definitiva es una carta bastante completa para este tipo de batalla.
👾 Goblin Psychic
This Goblin is ideal for this battle, it is not only a common unit, but it supports the tank by healing it, it has a low speed and to top it off it reduces the enemy's magic damage by 1 and prevents it from healing, this goblin is the reason why the ground splinter becomes an ideal choice for reverse speed battles.
Este Goblin es ideal para esta batalla, no solo es una unidad común, sino que apoya al tanque sanándolo, tiene una baja velocidad y para completar reduce el daño mágico del enemigo en 1 y evita que se cure, este goblin es la razón por la que el splinter de tierra se convierte en una opción ideal para las batallas de velocidad reversa.
👾 Mushroom Seer
We continue reducing the enemies' magic damage with Mushroom Seer, this unit, despite having 3 speed, reduces magic damage by 1, this ensures that monsters with magic attacks affect our lineup as little as possible. As a final detail, this unit has the poison ability, which can help us by accelerating the fall of the enemy tank.
Continuamos reduciendo el daño mágico del enemigos con Mushroom Seer, esta unidad a pesar que tiene 3 de velocidad, reduce el daño mágico en 1 esto nos asegura que los monstruos con ataques mágicos afecten lo menos posible nuestra alineación. Como último detalle esta unidad tiene la habilidad poison lo que nos puede ayudar acelerando la caída del tanque contrario.
👾 Goblin Tower
In the penultimate position, we place the Goblin Tower, a powerful ranged unit that has defense, but more importantly, its blast ability, so its damage can affect adjacent enemy units. Its low speed ensures that it will be one of the first units to attack.
En la penúltima posición ubicamos al Goblin Tower una potente unidad rango que cuenta con defensa pero más importante es su habilidad blast por lo que su daño puede afectar a las unidades enemigas adyacentes, su baja velocidad nos asegura que será de las primeras unidades en atacar.
👾 Swell Spore Beast
As the last unit I will use my most recent Rebellion card: Swell Spore Beast! It is another unit with a fixed speed of 1 and with quite remarkable damage, I currently have it at level 1 but my goal is to be able to take it to level 4 where it learns the affliction ability. This unit also has defense, so it is perfect to protect the last position.
Como última unidad usaré mi más reciente carta Rebellion: Swell Spore Beast! es otra unidad con velocidad fija de 1 y con un daño bastante destacable, actualmente lo tengo en nivel 1 pero mi meta es poder llevarlo a nivel 4 que aprende la habilidad aflicction. Esta unidad también cuenta con defensa, así que es perfecto para resguardar la última posición.
⚔️Strategy and battle lineup/Estrategia y alineación de batalla
Once we looked at the lineups, our suspicions were confirmed: the opponent opted to use a lineup entirely of magic units. We succeeded in reducing magic damage and reinforcing our magic resistance. At first glance, the result of the victory seems clear, but there are details worth highlighting.
Una vez vistas las alineaciones confirmamos nuestra sospecha, el oponente optó por usar una alineación enteramente de unidades mágicas, acertamos en reducir el daño mágico y reforzar nuestra resistencia a la magia. A simple vista parece claro el resultado de la victoria, sin embargo hay detalles que vale la pena destacar.

💥Round 1 & 2💥
The first round begins with the combined attack of our 3 long-range units that mercilessly take down the Prismatic Energy. In the second round, Gelatinous Cube and Captain Riverboat follow, both of which are also quickly eliminated, leaving the opponent with only 3 units.
El primer round comienza con el ataque combinado de nuestras 3 unidades de rango lejano que abaten sin miramientos al Prismatic Energy. En el segundo round le siguen Gelatinous Cube y Captain Riverboat igualmente eliminados rápidamente y esto deja al oponente con solo 3 unidades.
💥Round 3💥
For the last round, our opponent is unable to do any damage to us. Swell Spore Beast eliminates Medusa with a well-aimed attack, then Captain's Ghost is defeated by the combined attack of Tower Goblin and Cyclops, leaving Sea Genie as the last unit that is finally dispatched by Mushroom Seer. In the end, we achieved an impeccable victory. Not only did we not have any casualties, but we also ended with the health of our units intact.
Para el último round nuestro oponente es incapaz de hacernos algún daño, Swell Spore Beast elimina a Medusa con un ataque certero, luego Captain´s Ghost es abatido por el ataque combinado de Tower Goblin y Cyclops, dejando a Sea Genie como la última unidad que es finalmente despachado por Mushroom Seer. Al final logramos una victoria impecable no solo no tuvimos ninguna baja sino que además terminamos con la salud de nuestras unidades intactas.
🎋 Conclusions/Conclusiones
- The ground class definitely has the best low speed units for reverse speed, as it covers melee, ranged, and magic units. With this variety of cards, my strategy always focuses on combining magic units with ranged units, as was the case in this battle.
- Definitivamente la clase tierra tiene las mejores unidades de baja velocidad para reverse speed, ya que abarca unidades melé, rango y mágicas. Con esta variedad de cartas mi estrategia siempre se enfoca en combinar unidades mágicas con rango como fue el caso de esta batalla.
With this I close the battle mage secrets friends, I really love this ruleset because it gives added value to those speed cards below 2 that are normally used very little in battles but it is in these conditions that they shine with their own light. Con esto cierro el battle mage secrets amigos, esta ruleset realmente me encanta porque le da un valor agregado aquellas cartas de velocidad por debajo de 2 que normalmente se usan muy poco en las batallas pero es en estas condiciones que brillan con luz propia.
