It was a tough Brawl last time. I went 1-2 and the. Calzones finished in tenth place. I was hoping that I would bounce back and the guild could move up the ranks as well...
Using Noxious Fumes to Level the Playing Field

I've talked a lot lately about moving into fray 12 with a fray 10 optimized deck. This battle highlights how I go into these battles hoping to take advantage of a ruleset, mana count or strategy to help me even the playing field.
My level four Thaddius is no slouch, but a level six Kelya has an obvious advantage. So what did I do to that helped me overcome?

Round 1 - Fiend falls with the first attack, but takes at least one attack away from Harklaw. My opponents Venator and Fiend conenct but do no damage thanks to Shield. Sethropod connects as well, but for only one damage to my armor. Poison takes out my opponent's Fiend and takes Biter down to two health.
Round 2 - Biter takes out my armor, Setropod does one damge and I keep pecking at Sethropod's armor. Poison takes out Biter and Sethropod is down to one health.
Round 3 - Sethropod is able to deal one more damage, but is taken out at the end of the round by Poison. At this point it is Immunity v. Immunity, but my opponent cannot deal me any damage thanks to Shield.
🆗🆗 3—4. Not as good as 7—1 but I'll take it! 🆗🆗
111 points but only good enough for eight place. Better than tenth, but tier 2 is proving to be a tough battle ground. I'm happy with our improvement and my personal better record, but I need to upgrade and get better. The good news is we have upgraded out Hall and can now take advantage of banning a card when we are the home team. Things are looking up for the Calzones. We just need to keep learning and improving.
